Not spread. But small, in college at least. Not a power back but a finesse back.
Robinson has Kovacs playing in the box because he is not good in coverage. The hope is to stuff out the run. Go watch clips against Iowa and MSU. It worked.

And I also don't know if it's fair to label him a disappointment in the NFL. Guy has 30 touchdowns in 47 career games.

Is he a 25-carry-a-game, 1,600-yard rusher? No, but Bush is a major contributor to the NFL's best offense, and is still good for a "Holy crap! How did he do that?" moment in just about every game.

Percy Harvin, Steve Slaton, Chris Johnson, Rashard Mendenhall all played at spread-type schools, too. Wussie midgets.

Maybe I should clarify - RichRod has brought in a bunch of 5-6 slot guys, or so it seems.

And, yes, I still think it's a wussy offense.

Spread offenses are already affecting the quality of NFL quarterback prospects, and will continue to do so. The fact he played in a pro-style offense in college is the only reason John Parker Wilson, to name one, got an NFL job.

But at every other position, it makes no difference at all, I don't think.

It does seem that way but like I said they are recruiting a mix of big players and small players. By the way, the speedy slot receiver (Steve Breaston) is having a better career right now than the big play receiver (Edwards) and the possession guy (Avant.) I just thought that was an interesting thing.

But Breaston didn't play in Rodriguez's system. There is also a decent chance he might not have lasted in the NFL long enough to make it as a receiver if he hadn't been such a dangerous return man. He never seemed to fully develop as a receiver at Michigan, though to be fair, he had barely played the position at all before college. He was going to be a project no matter where he went to college. He was a quarterback in high school and he mostly ran the ball, though he occasionally lined up wide as a change of pace.

You don't draft guys that high looking for the next Dave Megget or Darren Sproles.

What if we just don't like him cause he's an asshole?

Kovacs was beaten like a mule in pass coverage last week. He was the high safety. Go watch the clips. It didn't work.

    As for MSU and Iowa....

Sparty rushed for 4.0 yards per carry, 197 yards and three scores and won. It worked?

Iowa's running game was held in check but the Hawkeyes are 8th in the league in rushing at 114.5 in a down year for runners in the league. Not much of an achievement.

And I almost forgot. If, as you say, they had Kovacs in run support in that game, that's another black mark for GR given that Moeaki burned them down the seam for two long TDs. Bet it would have been nice to have TWO safeties as the last line of defense against a team that has arguably the best TE in the league.

Talent or no talent that defensive staff has failed miserably in getting the unit to improve. It's gotten worse as the season has progressed.

Probably, but I think he bit on the fake. I can't find the Youtube clip either.
