And another idiot drags irrelevant crap into another thread. Then again, it's Zag, so what I should know better than to expect more of him.

Of course, it would help if Zag could actually read. Given the content of his previous post, he obviously failed to comprehend my posts about Rodriguez.

Have I ever criticized him for taking the Michigan job? No. Have I criticized him for using foul language or "hurting the feelings" of some of his players? No. Have I criticized him for breaking NCAA rules by having assistants monitor summer workouts? Only mildly.

Have I ripped him for recruiting for Michigan before resigning at West Virginia? Yes. Have I criticized him for burning his files at West Virginia in an attempt to either hurt the program or cover up other misdeeds? Yes.

Get your facts right next time, Zag. It would be a nice change of pace for you.

Wait a minute - a guy who was taking a new job called the No. 1 recruit in the country to tell him, you know, so he might be able to get an edge on the other teams recruiting him by showing how much he cares?

The shock, the horror --- what a horrible guy that Rodriguez is. How dare he try to get an edge in recruiting the No. 1 player in the country..... ::)

Oh wait, and he shredded some paperwork which may or may not have been meaningful and more than likely was meaningless.....What a jerk!!!!!!

Seriously, the only FACTS your little silly rationalization brought to light is the fact that you are still clueless on anything that doesn't begin or end with the phrase..."here we go stillers here we go......"

Fixed that for you. Oh, I left out the part about trying to get fired and then trying other methods (I forget all of what he pulled) to try to get out of paying the buyout clause in the contract he signed.

Horrible human being? No. Dirtbag? Yup. Given all the crap that he has pulled, is it likely that he has done more to violate NCAA rules than just have assistants run illegal practices? Hmmmmm.

DickRod is obviously a dirtbag, but probably not much worse than the majority of CFB and BKB coaches.

However, he ain't winning. That's his biggest problem.

U-M edged Carr out (not fired, not asked to resign, but definitely edged toward the door) because they were dissatisfied with winning 8-9 games a year.

Rodriguez has won 8 games in two seasons. He better step it up in a big way, and fast.

The new AD, Brandon (a former Schembechler player), owes nothing to Rodriguez, who was hired under the previous AD, Bill Martin.

For DickRod at this point, it's all production. Start winning or get out.

The NCAA stuff is only a minor factor (but it certainly won't help if he's in the aforementioned gray area of 7-6/8-5). Unless it explodes into a really major scandal, in which case he's toast.

DickRod better win at least one of the two big games, either MSU or Ohio State, along with 7-8 wins to have a chance to keep his job.

The Spartans have won three straight over Michigan only twice, both in the 60s.

OOP and Zag - Please don't keep blasting each other. I really don't want to see this thread locked.

I'm happy to stay on topic.

I have to agree this is all about wins and losses. Michigan knew what kind of dirtbag he was when they hired him. They just don't care.

And the AD who hired him is now gone...

Should have been gone a long time ago. Should have spent less time sailing on his boat and more time making sure his compliance department had shit in order.

Brandon is exactly what U-M needed. I'm confident as a Michigan fan that he will make the right decision regarding Rodriguez at the end of this season. More importantly, I know if Rodriguez is on the edge, Brandon will keep him, rather than sacrificing another rebuilding effort with new personal (coaches and players).

I don't think Rodriguez stays if he's "on the edge" (7-6 or 8-5), UNLESS one of the wins is OSU.

Let's say he goes 7-6. That would make his three-year record, in sequence, 3-9, 5-7 and 7-6, with only an appearance in an inconsequential fleabag bowl as any kind of "signature accomplishment." That's barely noticeable upward momentum.

Another point is, from the bottom up, Michigan's schedule is complete cotton candy. Yes, the top 3-4 teams on the schedule are very tough (OSU, PSU, Iowa, Wiscy), but there are 4 games (UConn, Bowling Green, UMass, IU) he should win just by falling out of bed in the morning. Illinois, Purdue and Sparty may not be much above that level.

He's got to win the 4 "knockovers" without a sweat, beat ND (probably a tossup), go 2-1 against the mid-level Big Tenners, and probably steal one of the others to be really safe.

There's no guarantee U-M can even beat UConn. I'm not expecting much in the W-L column this fall.

UConn will likely be favored over Michigan. The Huskies should be pretty decent this year. Just saying.
