Mustang - Hate to disagree, but if DickRod didn't ignore the rules, U-M wouldn't be in this mess.

    Truth hurts.

Mustang, read the story, instead of just the headlines.

The NCAA report does say he ignored rules.

The NCAA's report said of Rodriguez: "These rules were stated clearly, yet the staff of this veteran, experienced head coach consistently violated them from the time they arrived on campus."

As far as the probation, they did in fact get more. UM gave itself two years, which is the minimum. The NCAA gave them an additional year.

So the headline is 100 percent accurate.

What about that headline isn't accurate?

Also, believe me, if the NCAA sees nothing there, they don't apply penalties, even probation. They probably saw plenty there and this was them firing a warning shot.

    Also, don't shoot the messenger.

    Best regards,

    Magic

Well, DickRod got one of the two wins he needs to even think about keeping his job.

They should probably beat Purdue about 63-48 next week. Then come Wisconsin and OSU. Look out.

  5. Your logic is impeccable. You realize Bernie isn't a saint, right? Grew up in NE OH, much?

  6. Christ, you are a moron. But as a scU-M hater, I wish more of your peers felt the same way. Enjoy the Motor City Bowl, douches.

Don't burden him with facts. He was really only trying to pick a fight with me and, I think, make a point. One I already answered a while back.

  8. You actually associate with scU-M bball truthers? Makes me glad I don't live in MI anymore.

    Most UMers claim,

    a) not to care about basketball whatsoever, "it doesn't matter, it's the JV sport," and

    b) the whole Ed Martin mess was a "concoction of the media" -- never happened.

They're the bunch walking around today talking about the "great victory."

Funny how eyewitnesses only matter when they support the story you prefer.

So, no matter how much evidence piles up the other way, you'll assume things are the way you want them to be. Got it.

U-M's compliance director, Judy Van Horn, quit to be the senior women's athletic director at South Carolina.

    See ya.

If the highest-profile part of your entire university, the football program, is dragging its feet about following the rules, don'tcha think the boss of the compliance department should talk directly to the boss of the football department and tell him to get his shit together?

The compliance director's office is in the athletic administration building, which is two buildings away from the football building. Methinks it wouldn't have been too difficult for Ms. Van Horn to get off her butt and walk to DickRod's office.
