Updated thread - What TV commercial gets on your nerves?

    This.

I have no idea how you green-light such a commercial. What possesses you as an ad agency exec or Verizon marketing swinging dick to think beyond-annoying, crying women will prompt someone to buy your product?

That Totino's Pizza roll ad with the imbecile boys who are obviously so brain-dead from having recently discovered masturbation that they need to call the mom, who obviously needs to mainline tequila to console herself that it has to be her husband's gene pool, to find out where the pizza rolls are that are as close to them as their Astroglide is to their bed. And they leave the cellphone in the freezer!

OK, it doesn't get on my nerves, I have to admit.

That song is one of the great lost classics of the 80s.

I have never heard that song before this thread. I've now played the commercial three times.

Ditto. Except I only played it once (well, quit halfway through actually).

I don't mind the commercial nearly as much as the fact that somebody made the decision that they had to remove the subtitles on their sobbing conversation and make them speak more clearly on a second version of the commercial.

The latest from Jared where the guy proposes on the plane. Seriously? "Please return your fiancee to her proper upright position." Just absurd.
And the sobbing mom/daughter has GOT to go.

May I just say that no plane that I've ever been on has enough room for a guy to get down on one knee in the aisle, well alone then pick his girl up and dip her without taking out an entire row.

I'm so glad you posted this; I was watching it with my wife and I told her it's the most annoying ad on TV because you can't understand what the hell they are saying...but, of course, you can now. I was flabbergasted.

Mine isn't TV but on radio. My distaste for Flo/Progressive ads is well documented here. However, the recent "American Family" insurance spots drive me up the wall. Just the announcer's voice. It's that whiny/Beta male/"whatever you say, honey" voice.

Almost like Kevin Spacey playing a whipped husband.
