Updated thread - What TV commercial gets on your nerves?

I like the Coach T commercials better. At least they were trying to be original.

 

The truth and vitriol is strong in this one...

This month's contribution to the What The Hell Were We Thinking Hall of Ad Shame is that Land Rover commercial where the poor schmuck gets blindsided by his buddies' girlfriends, who tag along on what was presumably a Guys' Vacation.

Nobody tells the poor schmuck that he's got to play seventh wheel in his overpriced, underpowered SUV until it's too late. Then, they treat him like a red-headed stepchild on what was supposed to be his vacation: blowing him off on taking his picture, giving lip-service to helping him apply sunscreen and finally, leaving him outside to masturbate by the campfire.

The Poor Schmuck needs a better group of friends. And Land Rover -- the aforementioned underpowered, insanely overpriced excuse for a "luxury SUV" -- needs a better ad for its POS product.

 

"Goof humor" . . . it's mean-spirited, and ugly.

 

It's the obvious backlash to "Look at how smart and funny the woman is while her husband is a total doofus" thing that got overplayed before. So either the woman's awesome and the guy's stupid, or the woman's a bitch and the guy's pu*sywhipped. Can't just have two normal people. MUST HAVE CONFLICT.

 

I hate the Stanly Steemer commercials with Twisted Sister. I also hate the one for Cheerios where the older brother comes and steals as much of the cereal as he can off his baby brother's high chair tray before the dad can turn around. I irrationally hate that one.

 

There's the commercial (don't even know the product), where a pug or something is licking the toes of a toddler trapped in a high chair. I guess that's fine in itself, but what if harried Mom somehow drifts off to sleep and the dog tortures the ticklish kid for hours? What kind of ad agency thought of such sickness?

 

I think it's been commented on before, but the Klondike bar commercial where the guy gets a reward for listening to his wife for five whole seconds?

That and the dance circle one can go away, please.

 

The fucking bitch-brat in the current Comcast commercials can be thrown head-first in the pool any time now.

Funny, but I shot a commercial at the exact same house as the one that annoying girl is standing at, off Valley Vista in Sherman Oaks.
