Not funny. There's something disturbing about it.

The FedEx One Rate commercial where the guy gives himself a promotion (but management couldn't make the raise happen) makes me want to punch him and the stupid FedEx teller.

I hate that one because the truth is that it's happened to most or all of us, and it's not funny. More duties, same pay!

OK, so I know what everyone is talking about ... the other version of the Taco Bell commercial where it says "maybe your parents came home early" came on during the Caps broadcast. And I agree. That makes no sense whatsoever, sense it doesn't appear that the kid is hosting some sort of crazy party.

And the Domino's commercial where they try to pump up their online ordering process by talking about how bad ordering over the phone with them can be? That's a good advertising model--let's tell the customers how difficult it can be to do business with us.

Don't forget, this is the same company that spend millions on an ad campaign saying, "Yeah, our pizza sucked. But now it's so much better!" (Even though it isn't.) They even had the new boss in many of the ads. The previous boss? Dave Brandon, the University of Michigan's athletic director. No wonder why U-M football is firmly entrenched among the national also-rans.

Not to mention, the company throws its employees under the bus as absolute morons. Must be good for morale. Maybe it doesn't matter. Food service has such a huge turnover rate anyway, still more than 100 percent.

As a former employee many moons ago, these commercials piss me off. "Am I in a tunnel? No." Great morale builder there.

Having worked in a pizza place, taking orders over the phone, I'd love ANY ad that got the idiots to order online where they could see the menu and not call and waste my time. If it takes them thinking I'm a moron, that's a fine trade-off.
