It would help if she didn't pronounce it with a long O. But somehow I figure that's intentional. Either way, Apple needs to pay at least a little attention to how it sounds. One of the main tenets of effective communications that what you say isn't nearly as important as what people think they hear you say.

 

Hulu Plus wants me to watch shitty shows that are either exclusive (no network or cable channel would pick it up) or lasted only a season. There's a reason no one watched these shows.

 

I feel like Esurance is trying to sell me on the Max Power way of insurance shopping. Insurance is one of those things I don't mind taking a little time to make sure I get right.

 

I hope the Pixies got loads of money for letting somebody else ruin their song. I am so sick of that.

 

The main gripe with Apple phones is they are smaller in size than the Samsung and HTC phones. This commercial shows that they might be smaller in size, but what they can do and how they can do it make them gigantic.

They spend three or four seconds trying to build a base of legitimacy and credibility. It's just freaking awkward.

 

Gotta say that Sprint's Framily ads are this year's entry in the Most Incredibly Awful Ad Campaign in the History of Advertising sweepstakes. My god, is it stupid.

Meanwhile, that LeBron James app commercial might be the worst thing ever created.

I honestly thought it was a joke commercial when I first saw it. After about three viewings, I realized they were quite serious about this shit.

It starts with the entire conceit of the enterprise. A LeBron James app. Who the fuck needs a LeBron James app? Celebrity social media is almost entirely boring and inconsequential. If you download this app, you are a sad human being and it's a cry for help that should be heeded with electro-shock therapy and lobotomization.

If that wasn't bad enough, the tone of the commercial is so worshipful as to drive someone with normal functioning synapses to suicide. I'm convinced this commercial is used at Gitmo for the most nefarious purposes. LeBron clearly needs a protective order from the dude doing the voiceover in the spot.

I've never hated LeBron like so many others have in the wake of the Decision, etc. Helluva basketball player, but this goes too far.

 

I am scared for our society after seeing that LeBron commercial.
