I should have clarified that by recent switch, I meant the date night with the family is cringe worthy. I didn't mind the music videos and the extended version of the "Be With You" parody is better than the truncated one, especially at the end when Red is singing a duet with herself and creeps herself out.

Moving away from Wendy's, Budweiser's lime-a-rita Fiesta Forever commercials are god awful. And I'm probably thinking too much into it, but is White Boy Raggae Singer suggesting the couple "have a wild romance" and hands the chick the alcoholic beverage is suggesting the guy get her drunk and have his way with her?

The 'date night with the family' series is really bad because I thought one of the big reasons to bring in "Red" and give "Wendy" a complete makeover was to dispel the idea of Wendy being 10-12 years old -- she was now supposed to be a cute, sassy (and even vaguely sexy) young adult.

If she's still living at home with Mama and Daddy and bringing boys over for approval, all that is out the window -- might as well make her a junior high schooler again.

Probably mindful of the experience of Esurance and Erin Esurance, Wendy's has trod very very carefully on the "vaguely sexy" territory. I am sure there are lots of people who would love to see her hoisting a Baconator during a pole dance (see some of the Hardee's/Carl Jr spots), they want to preserve the character for future campaigns, so "vaguely sexy" is probably all us horndogs are going to get.

Rest easy, you Wendy's commercial haters.

I have it on good authority they've cratered their ad buys for the next 3 quarters.

I guess I'm lucky in that I've only seen the commercial once. I'm glad I wasn't the only one scratching my head after seeing it.
Sad thing is, Mazda is making some incredible cars right now. The 3 and 6 are probably the best cars in their respective (and extremely competitive) classes. But good luck making inroads with Toyota or Honda owners with those ads.

I don't see the problem, other than the fact I don't need to see Paris Hilton in a swimsuit. Seriously, that commercial is such a waste of time. I know it's their schtick, but it isn't that impressive.

At what point would Mazda's ad execs call Hamm and say, "get off your ass and come down to the studio, unless you actually participate in the commercials you ain't cashing any more of our checks" ??

Visa and Pizza Hut combine for one of the dumbest concepts ever.

We're supposed to believe that a guy surfing a huge wave is ordering and paying for a take-out pizza on his expensive smart phone at the same time.

Just saw this for the first time and it already qualifies as "getting on my nerves."

Verizon's upload/download ads, with the the slow UP escalator and the annoying woman at the top quizzing people about whether their socks match, etc.? Absurd and highly annoying. Do that many people really give a shit (or notice) that their upload and download speeds are different? And even if they do, if I had to ride an escalator that slow with that many people and I got to the top and found out it was an advertisement, I'd punch that woman in the nose.
