Urban Meyer: He gone ... sort of

If both parties in the contract agree to changes in status, then the contract is still being fulfilled. That appears to be the case here.

I suspect the about-face is due to recruiting. Without Meyer, some or much of the current class defects. He's bought himself and Florida time until after LOI day, at which point it becomes much harder for signed recruits to change their commitment (not impossible, just much harder).

Is it too late for "Post of the Year" nominations?

    I ask:

What if Tim Tebow is precisely the reason Florida was able to win the national titles?

What if Tim Tebow is precisely the reason Meyer's heart goes aflutter during games.

Tebow was the reason for one title. He was a bit player in 2006.

SI named him the QB of the decade even though Matt Leinart won as many BCS titles as a starter, .won 1/2 of the title in 2004 and was 37-2

Chris Leak, All-SEC second team QB in 2006, would like you to stop asking silly questions.

OK, gotta give credit to Deadspin for this one:

Yeah, he went from looking like "Wow, this guy actually cares more about his health and family than his coaching job" to looking like a colossal douche.

Hell, Billy Donovan had an easier time explaining his flip-flop and looked like less of a douche as Meyer.

Hey Billy Donovan learned at the heals of the master.

Isn't "colossal douche" part of the make-up of a football coach in the first place?
