That's what investigations and evidence are for.

Or are you advocating police shirk their duty by not gathering evidence when there is an accusation?

Think Jameis Winston and his ilk aren't feeling vindicated by all this? Now they can go out and f--- that c--- up the a-- with impunity. If we complain, "It's all just political correctness, like that fake story."

Maybe your trying to make some larger point in reference to the police shooting/choking threads.

You must be, because you can't believe this.

If so, we should blame ROLLING STONE, not the people who doubted -- correctly -- the Rolling Stone article.

I don't know why that's hard to understand.

And, by focusing the attention away from the problems with the Rolling Stone article, we are aiding the folks who would deny any rape claim.

Which is more important: a false article on rape, or the rape culture itself?

You should, in good conscience, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, ever, infinity ... again make comments about statistical ignorance on this website.

I am not going to waste the board's time going through all the ways this graphic is about as coherent as the Rolling Stone article, but I'll point out just two highlights:

    1) Per this graphic, two out of every 1,000 rapes ... aren't rapes.

    2) Per this graphic, rapes are reported only 10% of the time. This graphic, therefore, is based on a non-report rate that's one and a half times* that reported by RAINN, "The nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization."

You are far too knowledgeable about statistics to have fallen for this bit of hackery. For your penance, calculate three eigenvalues and invert two matrices by noon tomorrow.

*That's 150% for the innumerate among you who're keeping score at home.

Please tell me Dana's gone after that botched apology. A stone idiot if there ever was one.

They're not firing Sean Woods, who edited the piece:

I doubt Dana is going to get fired.

    Nah, I probably still will.

And I'll probably continue to post stuff that looks cool without fact-checking.
