Looks like the original story has been taken off the RS site. The link now just takes you to the editor's note.

I would call my country a pussycat. (I actually typed "pussycat.")

Yeah, won't someone think of the real victims here?

Sorry, but if frat bros don't want to be spoken of pejoratively, or pointed to as part of a campus's rape culture, maybe they shouldn't do things like marching to the first-year women's dorms chanting, "No means yes, yes means anal":

    http://www.salon.com/2010/10/15/yale_fraternity_pledges_chant_about_rape/

Or maybe the bros should stop sending emails entitled "How to Lure Your Rapebait:

    http://jezebel.com/bro-sends-awful-luring-your-rapebait-guide-to-entire-1442094485/all

Or maybe stop color-coding hand stamps at parties so the bros can tell who's been roofied:

I can keep going, if you want.

  9. Just throwing this out there ... As PW2 has maintained ... Regardless of this story and its errors its very likely Jackie was either assaulted and/or has some mental health issues.

This happened in the UK ...

By all means. You can also find the Arizona State fraternity that was banned from campus after holding a Martin Luther King Day party that was revoltingly racist.

The fact is, using "frat" shows bias, and bias helps lead to where we were led a couple weeks ago. Plus, no one actually involved in the Greek system calls them that, so it comes off as uninformed. I wouldn't use "cops," either, for similar reasons. Really, I dislike most shortening of words in this way, though I understand why it helps with headlines.

And for the record, yes, in this case, Phi Kappa Psi was the "real victim here," regardless of what happened at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

I don't think we have any kind of conclusive evidence that Jackie wasn't raped. If she was, she's still the real victim, much more so than Phi Psi.
