And what is your sober assessment of "the issue" after your extensive reading on the subject?

    LOL.

My criticism of journalists unfairly lumps them all together, but the jury is still out of Frat Bros.

You couldn't make my argument for me better if you tried.

I guess. I'll own that. I think there's a lot of validity in it, though. You don't. I get that.

Some of these "other sides" are not perceived. You just tend to dismiss them to serve your own purposes. We all do that.

Understand that for whatever you see through in me, I see through some of your BS, too. :)

To start, that the frequency grossly exaggerated by advocacy groups, particularly the 1 in 5 and 1 in 4 figures. That alcohol is almost always a factor. Abd also that universities are unfairly adjudicating these cases and likely severely punishing falsely accused alleged offenders.

Look, I also resent the idea that criticizing a fabricated story somehow puts me on the side of "rape deniers" and will cause more women to be raped, and/or to not seek help/justice in the aftermath of a rape.

There were many who tried to shut down all criticism of this article for these very reasons. And, when some of it became indefensible, they tried to call it "minutia" and suggested that few minor discrepancies don't deserve our focus.

And, these weren't just advocates for rape victims. People that present themselves as journalists and scholars took these positions.

    Read the Sally Kohn piece.

I'd resent that idea, too. And I think it's been overstated, perhaps you think by me although I'd never call you a "rape denier."

This is the big part to me. I mentioned it earlier but it got swallowed up by another discussion ... but if UVA officials had done what they were supposed to do, I have no doubt there would have been a man or men kicked out of school. The force of Randall's testimony that SOMETHING must have happened would have swayed a group that's wholly unprepared to deal with this.

I don't think there's any question that Universities are ill prepared to deal with these issues. They have an inherent conflict. Like Roger Goodell, their first though is not to get justice for the victim, but to protect the shield.

And, it would be their instinct if their was one case on campus, or an epidemic.

But, I don't think we can gauge the size of the problem based on the response of school administrators.

A massive survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has estimated that nearly 1 in 5 adult American women have been raped.

    Et, tu, Washington Post?

    Just shoot me.

Rolling Stone's libel lawyer resigns, denies it has anything to do with this story.
