Some women change their minds during the incident, for a variety of reasons (guy ditching the condom mid-thrust is one we discussed here). Should that be discounted because a minute percentage of women make things up?

No, they shouldn't be discounted. But there are documented cases of women changing their minds ***after*** the incident. And then from the study you posted there are cases where women don't change their minds at all but the psychologists assign the sexual-assault label to what happened. I don't know what the percentage of these cases is, only that there are instances of it as part of these sexual-assault tribunals at various schools.

And the more that 1 in 5 (or 1 in 4) number gets repeated or the PBS graphic gets posted, the more we're being led toward accepting the exaggeration as the truth.

The subject of a previous RS profile, Barrett Brown, blasts the magazine for implying they were in the courtroom with him, when the reporter absolutely was not there jotting down his facial expressions.

We're talking about "...the magazine that trashed ‘Layla,’ broke up Cream, ripped every album Led Zeppelin ever made...."

One of the friends, "Andy" goes on camera with CBS News to dispute the RS account.

So when does Jackie finally give her interview? And to who? Oprah? Barbara Walters?

  7. Saw on Fox, via Twitter, (i'll try to find the link) Erdely cops to "interviewing" subjects to find one to fit her "narrative."

    Game. Over.

Well, the game was over for her awhile ago. But that Fox report is just repeating the thing human sludge Chuck Johnson dug up of her giving a journalism talk at Penn saying she victim shops. It's not as if she gave a new interview.

  9. OK ... Hadn't seen it. Thought maybe it was a new interview.

    "The worst among us"?

Until her shoddy work was exposed, Sabrina Rubin Erdely was supposedly one of the best among us.

So you're going to make us all representatives of her transgressions, too.
