If you have really, REALLY LARGE forehead horn implants should you be eating Ben and Jerry's ice cream at NYNY?

    I'm getting mixed signals.

And what flavor where you having?

    Not being judgemental, just wondering.

I've always found checking in at McCarran while waiting for luggage quickest way to go. Also find that concealing a Peter Gammons under my license usually gets me a better room.

  3. The first time I went to Vegas, my buddies and I stayed at the Flamingo. We got there around 3 and the line was incredibly long. If you don't mind cheating and tempting karma, it's also incredibly easy to cut in that line. I know, I'm an awful person, but I walked right up to the front like I belonged there and I was checked in in 10 minutes. The way that line was set up was ridiculous because they had no real idea of how to flow people to the many lanes for checkout. It was one long line leading to about 20 customer service people.

Best solution is to be a privileged player and have access to VIP lines.
Best way to do that is to concentrate your play at one or two places,
which means (given that that allows you to take all the Harrah's properties and toss them in the sewer, since their gaming sucks to the extreme) that most issues are swiftly diminished.

I love that trick. Have had pretty good success in Vegas. Never thought to try it elsewhere but I might on a trip to NYC this summer.

You've gotta pick your spots. A room "one step up" at the Riv is no bargain, at any price.

for a $20 it might be best bet you make for your entire stay in Vegas. I try to be discrete but specific- " any suites available?"

Haven't most of the McCarran check-ins closed fairly recently?

True. I tried it at Venetian and ended up on a high floor with an amazing view. Then again, I wondered if at a place like that they would have done that anyway if I had just asked. Oh well, I think tipping is good karma.

I have a buddy in Vegas right now, and he's staying at the Strat. They have happy hour 4-8 p.m. daily - $20 gets you all you can drink.
The guy in question is a nose-open drinker, so the Strat might be going out of business.

Would the person who mentioned Main Street Station comment on the rooms? Hae you stayed there?
In addition to owning the Coast properties, I just found out that Boyd owns Sam's Town, which I like.

Good to know Buck. We're leaving Monday and staying at the Strat. Do you know if that's for any type of drink or just beer/wine?

For all the people who have had so much of a problem with check in (and I must admit, I never have), wouldn't a decent solution just to be to leave your bags at the bell station, go play for awhile and/or grab something to eat, then come back and check in once the line has died down a bit?
