If you're NOT hitting 15 against any dealer upcard of 7 or higher, you may
as well leave the premises, fly home, and send the joint a check, because
all you're doing by hanging around is wasting time, money and oxygen.

If you're playing Blackjack at all, you could save yourself a lot of time by just writing the casino a check.

Man, first time I went to Vegas - 1989, I think - the last place they wanted you was in a pool.

No kidding. They wanted you and your $500 on the tables. But now they realize you'll drop that $500 on a cabana rental and drinks--with no chance of taking house money.

You can say that about any casino game.

Yep. I just don't understand the appeal, personally. I'd feel like I was sitting down with a machine that let me put in a dollar and spit out 95 cents, over and over and over.

Still, if you're are going to play Black jack you may as well play the percentages. Staying on 15 facing a ten is just plain stupid

Some people like to gamble, some people hate to wager a nickel. It's a personal thing.

Even if you lose it all, if you can make $100 last at the blackjack table for 6-8 hours while getting free drinks, chatting with folks, busting on the dealers, etc., it's not a bad bargain.

Key with blackjack is to leave when you get up or at least put some of your winnings away. It's a real streaky game. You can be up $400 off a $100 initial buy in easy then lose it all.

Whatever I start with I expect to lose. Hopefully, I've enjoyed the drinks and the table and call it a night of entertainment. Just a bonus if you win, which has happened lately. I'm due for bad run.

I like gambling. I just like gambling where it is at least theoretically possible that I can gain an edge.

And sports betting. Although I only dabble in that because I haven't taken the time to really research if the edges can be found.
