Vegas bound. Any ideas?

My buddy assumed it was because of the tournament but the Palazzo screwed the pooch on this one. He goes to Vegas about 7-8 times a year and usually stays at Manadalay Bay where he gets his ass kissed on constant basis since he is worth millions. His wife wanted to try the Palazzo.

He is already scheduled for Mandalay for the five nights in May.

It's a weekend wedding in June. I'm looking at different packages on the Ceasar site now. Is a Roman Tower room any good? I don't need a whole lot of fancy.

Check out Bally's. It's across the street from Caesar's, rooms are nice (and cheap) and casino is nice-sized but not huge. Stayed there 30-plus times, including a month ago, and have NEVER had a bad experience. Our room was $44 and was very nice. I think you can get them cheaper right now.

How does Bally's rate versus Imperial Palace? Including location?

If you don't need fancy stay next door at Treasure Island. Probably be about half the price. I feel like you are paying for the name at Ceasar's. Not as nice as the Wynn or Bellagio, but costs nearly as much. Also their sportsbook comps suck.

Imperial Palace is a bit cheaper than Bally's. It also is a hole.
Do a search for previous Vegas threads or go back to the beginning of this one, there is a lot of great information.
Bally's is directly across LV Blvd. from Bellagio. Caesars if catty-corner across the street. Bill's and Flamingo are across the side street (Flamingo Road) from Bally's and directly across LV Blvd. from Caesars. That is one of the busiest areas of the strip. Paris and Planet Hollywood are right next to Bally's on the same block to the south.
You probably won't go wrong at Bally's. Don't go to Imperial Palace.

There's a simple map at the bottom that will show you where everything is.

The IP is a sewer . . . and if you're not familiar with the layout, it will drive you crazy. Bally's is OK . . . but it's a longer walk than it looks, both inside and outside . . .

If your man's happy with Mandalay, case closed. It's a lovely place.

TI is cheaper, now . . . it's controlled by the guy who used to own the late Frontier, and he's turning it into a grind house, with minimal property upgrades . . . but when Wynn owned it and I stayed there, the rooms were OK, and so was the food . . .

Ben's dead-on about the IP. Sorriest dump on the Strip, by a country mile.

Just a thought: why do rich people need the comps? Just to enhance their status, have their ass kissed?
My wife used to work for a dentist in Beverly Hills, high-end practice, patlents fly in from New York to see this guy. But after a cleaning, they won't leave until they get their free toothbrush.
