Vegas bound. Any ideas?

Good move. You'll be happier staying at a nicer place for your special trip than a shithole.

Someone on tripadvisor tried telling me MGM was crap, too.

I hope you "punched" that person. MGM is a solid hotel. Nice rooms. Too bad they got rid of the lions on main floor. They were always fun to watch.

MGM Signature is not the MGM hotel, though. Correct if I'm wrong on this, but MGM Signature is behind MGM and off the Strip a block or so.

Haven't stayed at MGM, but it seems nice enough -- just absurdly big and always packed.

Somebody on a Vegas thread a few years ago said, if you go to the MGM, you'll need cab fare to get from the entrance to the casino.
I think MGM is one of the luxurious mega-hotels on par with Bellagio, Mirage and Mandalay Bay. Maybe a small cut behind Caesars, Wynn and, perhaps, the City Center places I've never been to -- Cosmo, Vdara, etc.

I'm not familiar with MGM Signature, but from the look of it, it seems to be a luxury-condo type hotel. Probably fenced in with a nice pool and access to some really nice amenities. Just don't wander onto Koval Lane. From the Signature, walk to the Tropicana/Koval intersection and you're at Tupac's final destination.

Place is sweet. Some decent rates too.

    I thought so:

    - Paid 145 for the four nights at Circus Circus (via southwest.com Jackpot Deal)
    - Was told it was 265 to upgrade to regular deluxe room at MGM (takes it up to 410)
    - Doesn't include the 25 per day resort fee plus 12 percent tax (takes 410 + 108 equals 518)

I was able to get a high-floor suite for only 70 more total/17.5 more per day than a regular 1-king/2-queen deluxe at MGM. Plus I don't have to worry about check-in.

And the great thing is you don't have to fuck with Koval Lane and it's glorious inhabitants. The misses will be pumped to stay at Signature as opposed to the Circus. Circus can be fun to visit and ride the roller coasters, but not to stay.
Now you are more centralized and can walk/get a cheap cab if you need. FYI, you can only get a cab at a hotel or call to your residence/hotel. They are not allowed to pick you up on the side of the street like in the rest of America.

We have a rental car. Not too worried about cabs.

Got the Shania concert the first night at Caesars. Not sure if that is within walking distance of MGM.

Also want to eat at Top of the World at Stratosphere. No way in hell am I walking that far from MGM.

On the ideas side, the chick from lorshasworld does escort services in Vegas for a lot cheaper than Suzy por favor. $600 I think, which seems scarily affordable.

For the record, I've never been to Vegas but I've been to Oklahoma.
