Yeah, from the Monte Carlo to Caesar's you're better off taking the tram and then walking.

In KY's case, he's staying at the MGM Signature, and the monorail station is practically at the front door.

Canter's closed in, I want to say, November. My parents, in their many trips between SoCal and Colorado would always stop there coming or going and weren't happy that it was gone for a card room.

Damn. That sucks. That was our can't-miss lunch spot on the Strip.

Proposed to my wife in Red Rock Canyon. (Sandstone Quarry section. Walk down the path and then keep going another 100 yards or so. You'll see a mini-cliff on the right you can climb. Great views from there.) She calls it her favorite place on Earth. I did Valley of Fire and wasn't all that impressed. Plus, it took a LOT longer to see than Red Rock. Very long drive and you might not have the time given you're flying out.

Make a reservation at Capo's. We had to wait 30-40 minutes because we didn't have one. But the drinks were good at the bar. Also, have something witty to say at the "door" when he opens to window to let you in. I told him Clemenza sent me or something like that. Guy opened the door and said "take the gun, leave the cannoli." Very cool place. Great food.

Anybody have any info on Aria? I'll be in Vegas the first week of July and have some friends who already booked there. Unlike Central KY, our plan will include plenty of drinking and gambling. And if I don't stay at Aria, I'd like to at least be close by.

Red Rock is an amazing place, looks like a great backdrop for a movie about a Mars landing. I was out there in July (too hot!) hoping to take pics of wild burros. Didn't see any there but they were all over the place in Blue Diamond.

Stayed there Super Bowl weekend. The casino was nice, but the number of table games was small. The limits were crazy that weekend -- couldn't find a $15 blackjack table and after 6 pm, it was hard to find a $25 table. The sports book was tiny, but generous with the drinks tickets. The gambling floor didn't have the buzz of a Venetian or Bellagio, probably because of the small size.

It was luxury, but not as nice as the Wynn. We went to the new club at the Morton's which had just opened (a friend had a connection). We weren't club people, but the scenery at the place seemed pretty weak.

We ate at the Todd English Pub for brunch both days. Totally worth it and great bloody mary's. The mexican place off of the casino floor was very nice. Skip the Jean-George Steakhouse. They kept us waiting for 45 minutes despite a reservation and the place being less than full. Steak was just OK but way worse than other steak places I've tried in Vegas (Craft Steak -- a delight -- and even the place at the Hard Rock)

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking about maybe staying at the MGM Grand instead. It seems to be close enough to Aria and is cheaper. I went for the first time two years ago and stayed at the Monte Carlo.

I'm staying at the MGM those same dates. Arrive on June 1, depart June 9. Holla.
