    Going to Vegas soon.
Worth finding/visiting that pawn shop where they do the TV show?
I'd be going in as a buyer, not a seller (can't think of anything I have that's worth much).

@Joe, friends of mine went to that pawn shop and said it was a waste of time if you are looking for deals on anything. Only draw were the guys from the show. They said the place was full of fans of the show and people were mainly buying show merchandise (hats, t-shirts, etc).

I agree with Chet. When the show first started, it WAS kind of a cool place to stop by. They've really remodeled the place over the last couple of years & now it's more of a "Pawn Stars" museum / TV set, than a pawn shop.

If you like the show, though, it's interesting to stop by the shops of the "experts" they call in. The toy guy (Johnny, maybe) has his shop downtown, in the failed "Neonopolis" complex. Cowtown guitars is an impressive shop....if you're into guitars. It's just a few blocks from Gold & Silver.

The shop from Rick's Restoration is also located really close. They've also "formalized" their tours, but it was kinda fun to stop by. Only took about 15 minutes, but pretty interesting.

    Yes....I'm a dork.....

I went by the "Pawn Stars" Pawn Shop when I was in Vegas last summer. They were filming that day, so every so often, they'd clear the store and only let in sellers. Even when the store was open to the public, the TV show guys were in a back area that was closed off from people who didn't have an interesting item to sell.

You could see the Hendrix poster, the Rat Pack statues and other items/areas you'd recognize from the show. But if you think you're going to get in there and have your picture taken with Rick, Corey, Chumlee or the Old Man, you're wasting your time.

What did you do? Follow the old man to the bathroom?

I think he has a gun in his right pocket. The Old Man looks terrified.

Thanks, chet and others. If I went, I'd want to find some neat "buy" at the store at a decent price, not some memorabilia of the show itself or photos with the Old Man or Chumlee.

Maybe I'll see if the "Counting Cars" guy, Danny, has a showroom at his muscle-cars restoration place, instead. :p

Waded through most of this thread (skipping the honeymoon specifics) and basically gleaned that I should bring walking shoes, go to the crepe place at Paris and hit the English pub at Aria. Sound 'bout right?

Also, eat breakfast at Peppermill, a non-casino diner on Hollywood Las Vegas Blvd. between The Wynn and the Riviera. Biggest omelettes you've ever seen for the price.
