Merc Berman of the NY Post gives some more quotes from what he describes as a 'rambling' interview from Richard Williams in his piece today:

    http://www.nypost.com/seven/09072007/sports/tennis/venus_dad__henin_has_no_chance.htm

In the quotes, Richard Williams elaborates on why Serena couldn't compete with Henin and what Serena, apparently, 'really' meant when she called Henin 'lucky' in her widely-panned post-match presser following her US Open ouster.

Richard Williams also says that he feels that Venus will defeat Henin and whoever she would then face in the final.

Berman provides follow-up quotes from Henin, who was told about Serena's 'lucky' comments. Henin gracefully declines the opportunity to rub salt in Serena's wounds.

Is this the fucking Olympics? I didn't think so. You've been watching Rocky IV too many times.

The Kuznetsova-Chakvetadze match is an abomination ... bad shots, unforced errors and double faults

The Venus-Justine winner wil have a walkover in the final... won't lose more than 2 games.

It's painful to watch. Very disappointing considering that both are generally excellent players..

Chakvetadze won the first set 6-3 and hit ONE winner!
    That's how bad it's been...

And I agree chick, both are usually much better than this

Kuznetsova has pulled her head out of her ass and is manhandling Chakvetadze now.

And she still is play just OK... Chakvetadze is playing horribly and pouting

Chakvetadze pouts a lot. I don't know that I've seen a match where she lost that didn't involve her throwing her racket.

Hadn't seen much of her until this week but she has thrown a few rackets even when winning

I assume you and I are the only people in the world still watching this abomination

I've watched her play four or five times this year, but she has taken the racket treatment page out of Marat's handbook.

Probably, but Venus-that foul evil creature should be on soon.

I think I'll miss the good match because I'm heading to work soon.

But to me, there is no one to root for in a Venus-Justine match...it's all evil.

If it was Serena-Justine, I could understand thinking it's all evil. Venus seems a decent sort.
