Roger breaks back. Onto a tie break.

Well, this young hard hitting guy I never heard of is swallowing his own nads trying to close out the first set.
Of course, I'd hate to be out there trying to finish off Federer. Guy pulls some stuff right out his ass even when he doesn't play well.

Kid was up 40-0, 6-5 and gagged. Now 1-0 Federer in TB.

Federer = Greatest Of All Time

His concentration in these Slam finals is unmatched by anything I've seen. The fifth set against Nadal at Wimbledon and coming back from 40-0 to break Djokovic was ridiculous.

I admire Federer as much as any athlete going today. Guy is really, really good and I'd like to see him win.
That said, I almost feel bad for this dude. He had the set by the short hairs and let it get away, two double faults in the TB?
You can't waste chances against a talent like Federer.

Glad I tuned in. I had forgotten how much fun it is to watch quality tennis.

Safe to say Federer just won a set he had no business winning. That's why he is indeed the best of all time.

If Djokovic can pull his head out of his butt, he's got a decent shot today. Roger's committing a lot more errors than he usually does.

    Shot may have passed.
How long does Federer play like this? Eventually he'll get cranked up. Or maybe not. He keeps dumping shit into the net.

Even if Federer doesn't win another Slam -- Though I think it's almost 90 percent certain he'll blow by Sampras -- I still say he's the best ever simply on the basis of 10 straight Slam finals. Not to start another Tiger-Roger debate, but that's a stunning number. The next closest in the Open Era, according to CBS, is four straight Slam finals, and it's easy to see why. Tiger can shoot 75 on Thursday at Augusta and still come back to win. If Roger has even one bad day -- a tummy ache, a twisted ankle, his dog died -- he's out of the tournament.

He seems to be nervous, which is odd for him. When he lost to Djokovic last month, he was playing the same way, lots of unforced errors.
