Justin Gimelstob, journeyman from New Jersey.
Whacky guy, but a real good guy. Decent player with a lot of injury problems.
    He is now retired.

You haven't heard of her because she has never been ranked higher than 95th, and her U.S. Open results are as follows:

    2001: Lost in first round
    2002: Lost in first round
    2003: Lost in first round
    2004: Lost in first round
    2005: Lost in first round
    2006: Lost in first round
    2007: Lost in . . . second round.

She is best known for her knee-high socks at the 2006 Wimbledon

Mattek's channeling of Britney Spears last year also was a classic.

If I were paying, I'd skip the $$$ to attend a night session altogether, especially the first week when it's pretty routine.

If you can get a grounds pass, it's $40 and there are some stupendous matches going on on the outside courts.
I watched Feliciano Lopez (girls, you like this dude) and Igor Andreev (feller of Roddick in Paris) slug it out to a fifth-set tiebreaker today, really quality stuff.

Lleyton Hewitt is playing a night match on Louis Armstrong stadium tomorrow night, and you don't need anything more than a grounds pass to get there.

But beware of the scalping police. They're cracking down seriously and only getting ordinary citizens who are just selling for face value, innocently. The pros know exactly where that 1,500-foot limit is.

Weather has been stupendous so far, unlike last year.

Haven't seen Norm McLean in the press room, but did spot Lloyd from the Queen's whats-its-called, another Shea stalward (back from a year-long suspension).

He's front and centre at every press conference, asking really dumb stuff.

Yeah, that girls seriously needs attention. I guess she's getting it.
But she really doesn't have the figure for it, y'know what I mean? Without being mean?

She is definitely a bit zaftig; not a midriff-baring physique, you wouldn't think. I saw the wire photos of her and Madison Brengle in the first round. Biggest contrast between opponents imaginable, tho their names make it seem like a matchup in a country club tournament.
