Some posed a danger to the mother. But you know that.

The reason for the post was to draw you in and give himself something to do.

This thread veered off the highway the second three posters logged on this morning.

Yeah, at that point you couldn't just fucking rage along with people who saw it exactly the same way that you do.

WT, I'm the kind if guy who instantly changes the channel when one of those Sarah McLaughlin dog commercials comes on, so I understand the outrage ... To a point. On a micro level, what the dentist did is despicable. On a macro level, however, it's about 2,543rd on the list of awful things that happened this week. Some people are rightly shaking their heads that of all the stuff to be outraged about, this the particular thing that is moving the needle.

Walt said he didn't know the lion was collared until after the hunt.

If this picture is from after the hunt, it clearly shows he knew something went wrong.

I couldn't have even hoped for a response this good.

No one person should be held responsible for what "outrages" the masses, nor should one person be required to reconcile their beliefs with it.

In the day and age we currently live, anything you do has the potential to be thrown into the social shitstorm. There are thousands of people doing what this guy does. I guess what pushed him to the top would be the lion he killed, how he killed it, what he looks like, where he lives, what he does for a living, how much he had done in the past and probably a few others I am forgetting. You score each category with points then add them up for a total that determines if it is a story or could go viral.

If this guy never makes his "trophies" available digitally, this does not have enough juice to get off the ground. I don't think anyone argues with that.

White American? Possibly if he's a black German it does not get the same play.

If this was his first kill I, it probably does not get the same play.

I don't think Walt should be hounded for the rest of his life.

Some of the comments on Yelp, for example, are way, way out of line.

I do think he's a lying asshole, and he lives in the same state I do, so that's why I'm on this thread. If he lived in Chicago, I wouldn't be here.

What if he lived in Green Bay?
