WBTV helicopter crashes, killing weatherman, pilot

    This is awesome. Love the way you put it … “dead dumbasses falling out of the sky everywhere.” I’m going to steal that line, at some point.

    We use drones a hell of a lot these days. Our morning show has a dedicated drone pilot/photog. There are limitations, but there are a lot of times where it's a better option than the chopper.

    As Three Bags suggests, delayed or overlooked maintenance is often an issue for tourist and television helicopters. Being asked to fly in adverse conditions and pilot fatigue likewise.

    I stopped flying in them 40 years ago.
