Dave Grohl on drums will always be my happy place. Thanks, @Slacker

There are the great songs and the ones that are just so...stupid? Primal? I don't know. They just lend themselves to drivetime and roadtrip full-throated singalongs.

Being a football fan at Memphis State in the eighties was tragic. We got a lot of mileage out of this song:

And I'll see your Billy Joel word salad and add this was our curtain song when I was in sixth grade show choir in Lubbock:

And that was actually more tragic than late 80s' Tiger football. Imagine 25 little brown and white West Texas kids mushmouthing through that song. Nobody probably understood a word of what we were singing. We didn't understand it, either. Three years later I would get screamed at for telling an old lady Gary Busey was from Oklahoma. Ahdunno...

    Everlong

And in case it comes up in a trivia contest, the word "everlong" is used just once in the song, right up top.

My roll-down-the-windows, crank-up-the-radio and hit the highway song is "Runnin' Down a Dream."

  10. Got pulled over by a state trooper.
ST: “Do you know why I pilled you over?”
    Me: “Yes, sir. Night Train.”
    ST: “What?”
Me: “ I was banging Gun n Roses’ Night Train.”
St: (smiles, shakes head): Consider playing country, or keep it under 60 next time.”
Lets me go with a warning.

Great. Now that song is stuck in my head. As well the muzak version in the Learn To Fly video. Damn it. I'm going to Spotify now.
