At this point reading spoilers for Lost would be like dating a girl for six months because you want to have sex with her and on the night she finally says she's ready, you intentionally shit your pants.

More like she promises you tonight's the night, but you still hammer one out in the bathroom that afternoon while thinking of her.

    What analogies.

Doc's column was actually easy to follow compared to like 95 percent of his other ones. I like how he's looking for reader feedback on the top 3 questions we MUST have answered by the end of the series.

I can think of a lot but here's three biggies off the top of my head, in no order. They might get answered by the end of the season, who knows.

    1) What is the smoke monster?
    2) Why doesn't Richard Alpert appear to age despite numerous flashbacks, flashforwards and time-jumps that are in vastly separated years?
    3) What do the numbers mean in relation to The Island and Dharma Initiative (and don't give me Alvar Hanso's definition of the numbers)?

Screw this, I've got a few more biggies.

    4) Who or what is Jacob?
    5) Where are Rose, Bernard and Vincent?

    OK, last one...

    6) Why can't the women on The Island give birth?

    OK, really last one...

    7) What is the four-toed statue and what is its significance?

I'll wait out this season and send them ASAP to Doc.

    Really excited about tonight!

    That's easy. It's a statue of Chef.

They said in a recent interview that this question would be resolved before the end of this season. So you'll be able to check that one off, at least.

I love the little touches that complete the circle of time. Like Chang yelling at his wife to get her off the island and on to the sub, thus ensuring that Miles will eventually return to the island to tell his dad to get him off the island.

I'm also really starting to hate Kate. I was hoping Sawyer and Juliet would just leave and have their happy ending, living quietly in some corner of the world. Then she comes tromping down the ladder into the sub and ruins it.
    Bitch.

It was nice to finally see Richard having the "holy shit" moments, since he's been the one consistently springing them on others.

And what could it mean that the island/temple/smokie want Locke to kill Jacob? I mean, it/they threatened to end Linus unless he helped John... and John is supposed to be tied in the with it/them now... so it stands to reason that John's purpose has its/their okay. Hmph.

This episode had about six or seven 'Wow' moments in it.....terrific stuff.

Final LOST idea before I post like a fool tomorrow: Jacob's cryptic "Help me" message to Locke in the cabin in Season 4 has something to do with Locke's "I'm going to kill Jacob" line to end tonight's episode. I don't think there's malice in Locke's intention. Killing Jacob either means something else or Jacob (the person, the being, the "idea" of Jacob) is actually going to be killed (resurrected? freed from some bodily form?).

Since we've seen and heard Jacob and his eyes (twice), we can't say Jacob is just some made up entity to control The Others. Like, Richard or Ben or past Others leaders aren't saying "Don't do that or Jacob will get you!" to keep them in line. Jacob is real.
