Makes sense. But are we going to get a basic explanation of the numbers in the TV series? I mean, they've introduced them as a relevant part of the show and the characters have been affected. So.... hopefully in Season 6????

The gist of the creators' responses in interviews when asked about the numbers: Really, people make waaay too much out of the numbers. They're a part of the mythology, but if you think they're key to the whole thing, you're going to end up disappointed.

See, I read that, too, Arnold. But it's difficult to fully believe because they've made mention of them several times. Like more than some other mythology and supplemental stuff. I dunno.

Anyway, here's a weak spoiler for the season finale. Nothing too major, so you shouldn't be concerned if you read it. I'll still post the link instead of the actual words.

I'm assuming the reason they keep showing up everywhere is the result of something that is going on, not a reason in and of themselves.

  6. You had me with this sentence, but I was sure itw as going to be about Alpert saying he had watched the Losties die.
That's a pretty big reveal and one I almost forgot about because so much happened afterward.

    He could be lying.

Yes, but the 2004 Locke went into 2007 while he was time traveling, which means that there's a decent chance that he now knows what the future holds for the island.

Also, I love how Locke basically just set up his own death. It plays big in the whole idea that the castaways are shaping their destiny idea.

As for Alpert saying he watched everyone die, I don't know if that's really that big a reveal. I've taken the events going on in 1977 right now to mean that the castaways are with Dharma when the big wipe out happens, so naturally they'd die unless they prevent it which Jack is trying to do. Obviously he's either going to be successful or, in fact, he's going to cause his own problems.

Interesting that Kate doesn't want Jack to change things. For someone so motivated to find Claire, you'd think she'd want to rewrite history.

Hurley's lack of historical knowledge might have been the funniest scene I have seen on television since Kevin dropped his chili.

So, uh, the funniest scene you have seen on television in ... six days?

    It was pretty dang funny.

  12. How could the suggestion that the Losties we have watched for five seasons dying in 1977 NOT be a huge reveal? That was easily the biggest reveal of the night (whether Alpert is telling the truth or not). It could potentially be one of the biggest reveals of the show. It definitely hints at a very different landscape for the show.

And sorry, but we knew that the left behinders (Locke, Sawyer, etc.) were in the future because of the Ajira bottles in the canoe. All this showed was the Locke had "figured it out." I say "figured it out" because the island told him ... whatever that means.
