As great as tonight's episode was, the most memorable moment for me might have been when Juliet was running in that low-cut red shirt. I, for one, was very impressed.

I've watched two or three episodes of this before tonight, and I'm hooked. Gotta catch up before next season starts, though.

Is it just me, or was there a biblical theme going on here?
Jacob in the white robe at the beginning and the other guy (whose name has got to be another bombshell since it wasn't revealed) in black, sort of a Cain and Abel thing. That was kind of mirrored in the scene with Rose and Bernard.
And then Ben was serving in a Job role. All of the tests, the blind faith, to see if he'll falter that one time. That's why Jacob can't help him at the end or answer his question. It's the final test. And Ben fails it (a twist on the theme), which is going to lead to disastrous consequences.
It seems like Jacob and the other guy (call him Cain for now) are engaged in some sort of test of humanity itself. They're obviously not normal folks. This test repeats itself over and over through the centuries, as evidenced by the opening scene (the ship out on the water, I assume, was the Black Rock). Jacob always wins, and they start another test with another group of castaways.
For whatever reason -- ground rules, maybe? -- they can't kill each other so they need a proxy. That's why "Locke" needed Ben to do it.
As for Richard, perhaps he's the referee in this whole thing. And the Others are former castaways who were left over when the tests ended.

Was the cabin Iliana's group burned the one that Rose and Bernard were living in back in 1977?

    I thought it was.

Only 26 minutes in here, but just want to say it was great to see Jack tell Richard "I wouldn't give up on him" regarding John Locke.

Been hoping all season that Jack would show some real appreciation for Locke, now that he's buying into the whole "man of Faith" thing.

  7. I am not reading anything on this thread tonight, so forgive me if this is a common theme and I'm just echoing it, but...

DAMN I HATE SEVERE WEATHER THAT INTERFERES WITH LOST! I'll have to catch the finale online tomorrow. Then I'll come back with my mind blown (I'm sure) and join in the fray.

Anyone know if you can rent full seasons at places like Blockbuster and Movie Gallery?

They break up the sets so you rent each disc individually, but yeah. That's how Mrs. Circus and I got into the show.

    Awesome.

After watching the finale tonight, and see how hooked my boss is on the show, I realized I've got to get caught up.

I've got what, seven months or so before next season starts? I figure I can get caught up in that time.

Oh, most definitely. Sucks that you're not watching them in order, but you've crossed that bridge. Get thee to the video store!
