It'll be kind of cool, that's for sure.

I think so, 93. It'll be one of those things to look for.

Most intriguing thing that I got from Doc was the cabin as the "prison" for Esau or whatever we want to call the Nameless One.
And after reading that, I still don't see how Juliet not being visited is significant. I saw her flashback, and sure, she was the only one at the site who was not visited, but she also was the only one who was not on either plane, right? I'll still have to watch the first 40 minutes again.

The point of Juliet not being visited is that she is a variable in Jacob's plan -- something he didn't account for. Maybe Richard rectified that, or maybe Esau (Man In Black, etc.) got to her. Something we have to find out.

Richard, who takes orders directly from Jacob, recruited Juliet. I doubt he didn't account for her.

Wasn't Jacob with Juliet's mother when they announced they were getting a divorce and youthful Juliet ran out of the room?

If that's the case, is Jacob the father of Juliet?

I feel like Maury Povich right now.

Honestly, I think Juliet's flashback was used primarily to show why she came to the realization that she and Sawyer weren't meant to be.

But, then again, everyone's saying she's dead so what do I know?

Unless Richard doesn't take all orders directly from Jacob...
But, he probably does. He sensed there was something off about "Locke." He seemed genuinely glad to see the Ajira crew show up. In an earlier life he seemed highly skeptical of Jack's blow-up-the-nuke plan.
But, he could have protected Jacob by going into the temple with "Locke" and Ben. He could have stopped Jack. And he didn't.
Much looking forward to his inevitable flashback episode.

Right. And I agree with schiezainc's point, too. Do we even know what Jacob's ultimate plan was, since he visited them all at different times in their lives? Or maybe I should remove myself from the discussion until I watch the first 40 minutes? ;D

  10. I can't even keep up with this thread. Great work, guys.
A few very minor things I want to add.
    1) I seriously doubt the bomb knocked over the statue. That thing was friggin' huge. We'd have seen it in the 70s and probably the 50s if it was there then.
    2) I am really siding with the idea of Jacob and Esau being in a battle over fate vs. free will or the goodness/fallibility of humans. Jacob spent so much time talking about choice. And it sounds a lot like the story of Job to me.
    3) I hadn't even thought about the fact that Esau tricked Locke into dying. That's fantastic.
    4) You realize Locke has been dead since the finale of Season 3? I know we see him alive in 4 and early in 5, but you first see that coffin in 3. If he's just completely gone, I'm going to be pissed. He was my favorite character and I especially loved that he was back to being the confident, knowing-smile Locke this season. Of course, it turns out that wasn't even him.
    6) That was absolutely a cliffhanger. What happens next? Anything. But I also feel like I can wait the eight months, for some reason, so that's nice.
    7) On the last Official Lost Podcast, the producers said after seeing this episode and the Season 6 debut, viewers would finally have enough information to make a fair guess about what the entire series was about.
    8) Unless Season 6 is just terrible, this has taken over the role of greatest show in the history of television.

  11. I don't think we will see Jacob in any past episodes. The actor's first work on the series was the finale. I would imagine the same with the nameless one, but I don't know.

As for Juliet ... the reason it appears significant is that they showed flashbacks of all involved and Jacob appeared in all of them except for her flashback. The Lost crew doesn't just randomly decide to do something like that. I really think there is some meaning. Maybe it is that she is a variable to the plan, maybe it's that she is working for the nameless one or for Ben or for Richard or something. But I bet it means something.

Would they have to list him if he was just briefly shown in a scene like an extra would be?
