Not sure about Horace's nosebleed. But he and Locke's exchanged happened in John's dream - not in some weird jungle encounter like Kate and the black horse or Shannon and Walt. And Horace also seemed to be stuck in time. He talked to Locke for about 20 seconds then the conversation reset and the chopped trees reappeared. It was odd.

Right, I thought Horace was a vision the island (or Esau or Jacob or whoever) gave him, not a real person time jumping.

We've seen a picture of the DeGroots, though, haven't we?

They were shown in the orientation videos, but I can't remember if that was on the show or in the non-canon extras.

The DeGroot thing was just a thought -- it probably has nothing to do with them.

As to Horace/Amy, I can't believe that it is just random that the tunnels lead up to their basement. I think that Amy is a hostile and that Ethan isn't Horace's son.

Karen DeGroot was a blonde white woman in the orientation film, so that rules out that theory.

In case it wasn't obvious already, Elizabeth Mitchell is going full-time for the new V series:

I cannot believe somebody actually thinks it's a good idea to bring back "V".

Well, hell. George Lucas thought it was a good idea to keep making movies. Just because it's being done, doesn't mean it'll work. :)

  10. Doc's got some more thoughts on the finale, especially V-bound Juliet.

Doc got deep with that shit (that's what she said).

Usually the guy goes a little nuts on stuff but that column made a helluva lot of sense.

So what's everyone watching at 9 p.m. tonight?

When Amy's husband died, she grabbed the ankh from around his neck. That indicated a connection with the Island's old religion, which involved the statue. I had thought that the "What Lies in the shadow of the statue?" people were religious freaks who had broken off from The Others/Hostiles/Natives due to whatever argument in the past. I thought Amy was one of these; hence her danger with the Hostiles that Sawyer and friends had to save her from.

But after Ilana's meeting with Richard, I'm not so sure. Either way, absolutely agree that Amy has some kind of history/connection with the Natives/Others/Hostiles. The question is: did she retrieve the ankh for herself and her own beliefs, or did she retrieve it so Horace and friends wouldn't discover that it was her dead husband who had the connection to the Island religion?

Can't even venture a guess on Ethan's parentage.

The big problem right now is that with 16-17 episodes remaining . . . the entire show may have been changed by that white flash. So anything we thought we knew (or could reasonably speculate) might be completely gone. Which is no doubt what Cuse and LIndelof want us to think. Problem is, they need to be careful to not negate five seasons of narrative. Some fans might wonder why they committed to the show for so long if that happens.
