Bob Sanders is hurt? What will you tell me next? That the sun will come up tomorrow?

I know the Revns only put up 10 points, and the TD drive was aided by Jets penalties. But Flacco threw for 248 yards against a defense that doesn't give up those numbers. He likely won't be pressured like that again this season. If Boldin stays healthy, Flacco and the Ravens' offense will be very good this season.

I wouldn't say that he won't see pressure like that again. The Jets didn't exactly have a great pass rush last year, so other teams might be able to get to Flacco, too.

That said, with those three receivers and Rice in the backfield, that should be a damn good offense. Flacco just has to step forward after regressing last season.

Flacco regressed? He threw seven more TDs, with no more INTs, threw for 600-plus more yards and increased his completion pct. and passer rating as compared to his rookie year.

And now Kris Jenkins is done for the year with a torn ACL:

Same knee as last year. Might be the end of the road for him.

He had a huge start and faded badly down the stretch. Yes, the guy I saw at the end of last season was not as impressive as the guy I saw late in '08. Perhaps my expectations were just too high. I really thought he was going to be a star with the way he developed as a rookie and that Harbaugh gave the Steelers two gifts by refusing to let him cut loose in the last two meetings between those teams that year, including the AFC Championship game.

Flacco had plenty of good games down the stretch. But all his really bad ones also came in the last few games and the playoffs.

His best games came early. The crappy defenses of the Bears and Lions propped him up a bit and made it harder to see, but he was not nearly as good the second half of last year as he was the first.

In fairness to Flacco, he revealed in the offseason he had a hip bruise so bad, he could barely walk, much less push off with his back leg, the last four weeks of the season.

I dunno; there's a pro surfer at my rehab clinic who has had his left ACL replaced 5 times over 25 years. But you're probably right.

I am not surprised Rick Stain wasn't intelligent enough to learn that on his own.

Especially after I had a similar injury flipping burgers. I should have seen the signs.
