I mean, Tyree had to pin the football to his helmet and hold it there while Rodney Harrison tried his damnedest to dislodge it, so yeah, Tyree's catch has an argument on the difficulty factor.

The strength of Tyree to hold onto his catch was remarkable. He had to keep the ball from sliding off his helmet while Rodney Harrison, a ferocious 230-pound safety, was doing everything he could to move that ball six more inches and put it on the ground. And nothing, not even the nose of the football, ever hit the turf. That was more skill and strength and sheer determination than it was luck.
Hell, the difficulty of Tyree's catch might be underrated.

Beckham's was just in another class of catches, though. That not only required the strength to bring the football back to his body (just as much as Tyree needed to hang onto the ball) but to get open and get his arm free while being interfered with. And that's not even taking the body control needed to stay in bounds into account.
Tyree's catch was great. Beckham's was insanely great.

The point about Manning moving around in the pocket is a good one. He's outstanding at buying himself an extra second to throw just by shuffling his feet and moving two steps in a given direction. It's an odd kind of elusiveness, but he's slippery back there when he needs to be.

I'd make fun of your love for conspiracy theories, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't occur to me as well.

The only reason I dismiss the idea is that it would be tampering and I don't think Belicheck would trust a guy like Blount to keep his mouth shut.

And that the other 31 NFL teams would have to cooperate. Blount cleared waivers, was signed by Pats.

    Cooperate is the wrong word.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/marshawn-lynch-fulfills-media-duty-by-saying--yeah--12-times-024054557.html

Marshawn Lynch answers "Yeah" to damn near every question asked of him during the post-game interview.

I find his reactions to the media really interesting. I don't think he's shy or reclusive in the way that Ricky Williams felt completely uncomfortable with the media. He's not ornery or threatening toward the media in the manner of an Albert Belle. And it's not that the media is asking all bad questions. He just doesn't want to answer and he seems to kind of enjoy not giving the media much of anything.

That said, the link provided compares him to Harvin, calls him immature and notes that "we're now writing about Lynch and what he didn't say, as opposed to the fact that the Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals and now stand two games back in the NFC West."

Seems like they're trying to tag him with the label of "distraction," but I find it hard to believe anyone in that Seattle locker room gives a damn whether Marshawn Lynch gives thoughtful answers to the assembled media.

So what's up with Marshawn? I think he just likes messing with the media and it means nothing in the locker room.
