It's going to be amazing when a 6-10 team is hosting a playoff game.

The Jet / Dolphin game should be a good one on Monday night. Good things happen in The Meadowlands for Monday Night
Football when the season is over for the Jets.

A 6-10 Super Bowl team would be a hoot. I'd like to think everyone outside of the other team's city would be rooting like hell for the 6-10 team.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Sometimes it's good to have a wacky kind of BIG EVENT.

Imagine the 6-10 Bucs against the 14-2 Patriots.

As awful as the Saints have been the last two weeks, I could see them winning a home playoff game. Hell, they beat the Packers at home and nearly beat the Niners.

It would also most likely inspire a rule change. Perhaps they end up seeding based on record. That isn't perfect, either, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the league cave under criticism for a 6-10 team hosting a playoff game against an opponent with 10 or 11 wins.

We've already had a 7-9 team beat an 11-5 team in a playoff game. It was the game that made Marshawn Lynch a legend.

That's an interesting one. I'm not opposed to seeding the playoff teams based on record, even though that's not a perfect system either. It was an issue last season when a 8-7-1 Packers team was hosting a 11-5 49ers team in the first round.

I know, but it is tougher to dismiss as a fluke if it happens again and the host team has an even worse record. Also, the league has shown an increasing willingness to cave under criticism and pressure.

I've heard it discussed a few places today. I've also heard the idea of keeping teams with losing records out of the playoffs, but I can't see that ever happening and I don't think it should happen.

The Seahawks hosted that game didn't they?

They'll never do that. Especially when they're talking about expanding the playoffs. Winning the division has to count for something. I don't have a problem with a 6-10 or 7-9 team making it, but they shouldn't be hosting in the first round either.

    Yes.

And both went 4-2 in their divisions.

The Seahawks were just lucky enough to play in a shittier division.
