They have to play the Bears twice!

It's something like, Patriots, Bears twice, Vikings, Buccaneers and Packers. I think 10-6 is realistic, especially when the Packers may not have to play starters in the final game.

Home-field advantage/top 2 seeding could still be on the line.

True. And in theory, the division could still be on the line. It would not surprise me if the Packers are 11-4 and the Lions are 9-6 going into the last game. But who knows? It could be the other way around.

Jets @ Bills is almost certain to be played Monday in Detroit, Washington D.C. or Pittsburgh.

Wouldn't a game in Syracuse (dome) at least give some Bills fans a chance to see the game?

I don't think the roads are safe or expected to be safe.

The Syracuse Crunch will host the Utica Comets in the Frozen Dome Classic on Saturday night. That game is expected to surpass the U.S. indoor pro hockey record of 28,183 for the Philadelphia-Tampa Bay playoff contest in the Thunderdome on April 23, 1996.

The Crunch's lease with the Dome runs through Sunday, and as challenging as getting a rink down in less than four days will prove, cleaning up everything in 24 hours will be even more difficult.

As soon as the 7 p.m. contest ends Saturday night, the ice crew will begin several hours worth of work shaving down the ice with the resurfacer. Since about 1/32 of an inch is removed with each pass, that could take awhile.

When the ice, which will start at about two inches thick, is pared down enough, workers will break it into chunks with sledgehammers. Those chunks will be loaded onto trucks and driven to the Crunch's War Memorial, where they will be disposed in the building's ice drainage system.

Meanwhile, the rink's boards and glass will have to be removed, and then 34 mats that lace together cooling pipes underneath will be rolled up and tucked away. Below the mats are layers of plastic and plywood that have to be yanked up.

The process is expected to last into Sunday night, beating the deadline, but perhaps just barely.

I'm not sure moving the game to Toronto would go over well in Buffalo.

Why didn't anyone else think of that? Is the Grey Cup this weekend?
