I need to apply to work wherever your buddy does.

Detroit hasn't won at Lambeau since the early 1990s, IIRC. Green Bay is my NFC Super Bowl team and no reason to jump off the bandwagon now unless Rodgers gets hurt again.

As long as Rodgers is playing, the Lions aren't winning an important game in Lambeau in Week 17.

Rhody, your continued belief in the Saints surprises me. My feeling is that's a team in need of serious regrooving.

I just refuse to believe a team with that offense can be that bad.
And seeing the rest of the division, I think they're much better than the rest. Newton is the NFC's Andy Dalton, Atlanta is a mess but I think Tampa could be decent if they can get McCown playing like he did at the end of the season. Better D than anyone else in the division too.

That offense hasn't resembled its usual self for much of the season, and now Cooks is out. As for the Bucs, even after shutting down the Redskins, they're 27th in total defense. Four spots worse than the Panthers and seven spots worse than the Saints.

That is correct. It's why every onside kick is bounced off the turf instead of just popped up to achieve the same effect.

I'd like to have your optimism. However I've seen this team screw up too many late games and too many 3rd & 4th and long situations, turn the ball over too many times (yes, Mr. Brees, I'm talking about YOU), and in addition I've seen something disturbing this year that I haven't seen consistently in awhile: the interior OL is getting beaten. Which leads to something else I haven't seen in awhile: the Saints look lethargic and on their heels at home. And not just these past two weeks: the Minnesota game was shaky for awhile, and they had to rally in the 4th quarter vs. Tampa Bay. The home losses were probably overdue given their overall play this season.

If the Saints OL can hold blocks against the Ravens front 7 they can win. But damn if I can feel confident in this year's squad. They just cannot make the play when it counts on a consistent basis this season.

I love obscure rules like the fair catch kick.

In the NFL, on a conversion play, if the defense bats or kicks a loose ball backwards into the end zone without actually taking possession of it, the result is a one-point safety.

In college, if the offensive/kicking team on the conversion somehow managed to go backwards the entire length of the field and get safetied, it would be a one-point safety for the defending team, making it theoretically possible for a team to score just one point in a college football game.

    Lions special teams remain misnamed.

    McCown's gonna beat Cutler, Rick.

Packers have gotten quite lucky as Bridgewater has missed two throws that could have been nice gains. Those are two throws you have to complete.

Eagles special teams, meanwhile, living up to the moniker.
