The Broncos have to beat Cincy and San Diego to get the No. 2 seed, and yes, that would give them the No. 2 seed. If they lose either one they probably don't win the division and very likely could miss the playoffs all together.

Tyrann Mathieu has a torn ACL. That sucks.

  3. Even healthy this season, he was at the helm of the worst-rated offense in the AFC.

Yeah, I have no ties to the Cardinals, but they have been so unlucky in the past couple years with injuries that I was hoping he'd be OK. This isn't quite as bad as being down to your third QB for a playoff game, but in today's NFL, losing an impact player in the secondary is huge.

And for him personally, moreso. Dude just recovered from one of those. Now another? Christ.

How long before people call the Panthers soft for not knocking Beckham out of the game?

They did get out the Louisville Slugger, so you have to give them that.

Source: Beckham irked by Panthers' bat stunt

The league office took action, suspending Beckham for next week's game. He is appealing, and that could be heard as soon as tomorrow, but he clearly deserves it when you consider all of the aggressive behavior.

The league office is also supposedly looking into the officiating because the crew let that game get out of hand. I think you have to look at Tom Coughlin for failing to address the situation during the game.

Of course, I would take the league's attempts to protect the players from each other a lot more seriously if they also actually held the teams accountable for player safety. Still nothing about the Rams letting Case Keenum play with a concussion without going through the protocol a few weeks ago. Not a word about Roethlisberger playing through one for a few plays two weeks ago against the Seahawks. No surprise there. The league has been letting teams get away with this for years and shows no signs of changing even with the added attention on concussions.

Was anyone else uncomfortable with the old white reporters who always clamor for the days of Butkus and Lambert getting irrationally angry about Beckham? Like its OK for the white middle linebackers to break fingers and play dirty in their day, but the flashy, young, black receiver is a heathen and should never be allowed to play in the league again.

Please don't play the race card when it clearly is not warranted. First of all, it isn't just old white reporters bashing Beckham for his behavior. There are plenty of black analysts doing it as well.

Also, nobody is calling for him to be banned from the league. People are supporting the one-game suspension. Beckham punched Norman repeatedly in the game. Combine that with the dirty, helmet-to-helmet hit after a play was over and he absolutely deserved a suspension.

The comparisons to Lambert and Butkus are ridiculous. That was a completely different era. Players, black and white, got away with all kind of dirty play that wouldn't fly in the current NFL.

It would be wrong for Jeb to smack DOnald, wrong. But when a bully baits and insults to the degree that Norman did to Odell, it's understandable. BTW Odell beat Norman all over the field.
