I didn't see the play, but a receiver can shift the ball while maintaining control. Did he bobble it, or shift it?

When he pinned the ball against his body, to me, he was in control of the ball.

Good god, Tannehill is a bum. Two interceptions in the end zone (one was on a two point conversion).

I don't think there's an argument in OT strategy either. If you have a chance to win it with the very first possession of the extra session you take the ball. Every time.

I also didn't have a problem with how OT used to be (don't be in that situation, if you lose the toss you know you have to stop them from getting into field goal range), I don't have a problem with how it is now. If a team loses the toss and wants to win, they have even more of a shot to stop the other team. I wouldn't hate if both teams just got a possession and the point brought up here of just playing a whole period isn't a bad one either, although I don't think it will ever happen because of guaranteeing longer games. That said, the new rule brings many OTs close to the whole 15 minutes anyway. I just think they should keep it as close to actual game play as possible. I don't think giving both teams possession makes it like the college game. It just gives both teams one shot with the ball, could be from your own 1 or their 1. Let the game dictate it. The 25-yard possession thing changes strategy on both sides really. It's gimmicky. It's OK for college, but definitely don't want to see it go to that.

  5. The loss can cost the Pats the No. 1 seed, which is nice.

The only thing I can think of in defense of Belichek: by Kicking Off, he's banking on his defense to stop the Jets, and punt. They get the ball with a short field to work with for a GW FG.
If the Pats take the opening KO, they likely start at their own 20, needing 40-50 yards for a FG. A FG that does not win the game.
If they get stopped, the Pats punt and the Jets get a short field for a shot at a GW FG.

I won't second guess him. It's not like he went for out on 4-1 in short FG range in the 1st Q of a key game to clinch a playoff berth! Fuck, Tomblin! Seriously?

And GO Buffalo! Rex and Ty, baby!!!!

Both Tomlin and Harbsugh threw challenge flags on the same play, which was not a reviewable play anyway. Play was delayed twice and they went to commercial each time.
Either delay of game or unsportsmanlike conduct flags should be thrown when coaches seek a review of unreviewable plays.

And Miko don't like it ...

Miko Grimes, the wife of Miami CB Brent Grimes, has never been shy about sharing her feelings on the Dolphins, more specifically that everyone who’s not her husband is trash. But after the Dolphins sputtered to a 18-12 loss to Indianapolis, Miko sprayed some exceptionally caustic vitriol toward QB Ryan Tannehill, and the media members and fans who support him.

When Belichick went for it on fourth down it was because he had no faith in his defense. Yesterday was the flip side of that. His defense kept the team in the game, and he banked on it in OT. Decision was defensible in that context. Just didn't work.

He shifted it. Honestly, it was tough to tell. I have no problem with calling it incomplete. I do question if it was enough evidence to overturn and anybody who said it is an easy incomplete is clearly wrong or you wouldn't have Pereira disagreeing with the replay ruling.
