But over 60 minutes it had more total time to rest. So the time to rest argument I'm not buying. The more plays argument, I'm totally buying.

Though I think the original post was trying to take a shot at Chip Kelly saying he gassed his defense b/c of the tempo of his offense, and that is decidedly not true. They were likely gassed because of the pace of the Washington offense, but Kelly's offense gave his D plenty of time to rest - more than Trestman's offense did.

I'll ADD: I don't actually think they were gassed.

You'll likely be flipping between Denver/NYG and Redzone. IIRC, the Jax game is at 4, and the Skins are at 1.

Probably less recovery time between possessions though. Eagles possessions were short because of the tempo. There were more possessions and less recovery time between possession than a normally paced game.

Everybody gets more tired playing like that. It's like playing a basketball team that plays run-and-gun. Better be ready to use your bench more.

This offense is like the old Run and Shoot in that it isn't designed to milk the clock and salt away a game.
Let's wait and see what kind of game legs these guys have by December.

The Eagles had 14 possessions, none of which took four minutes off the clock. The Bears had 11 possessions including four that took more than four minutes or more off the clock.

More possessions for the Eagles defense (despite the Bears' 1-play possessions) plus less time consumed between possessions plus more plays to defend = less rest and more fatigue.

    Pretty simple.

Kid just hung in there and made a helluva throw on 3-and-7 for the Jets.

Jets wide receivers can't hold on to shit.

As someone who is tired of the Patriots and tired of the circus around the Jets -- and, as a result, is very neutral -- I say the linebacker deserves credit for breaking that up. Nice throw. Decent effort by the receiver, but better play by the linebacker.

On the one in the end zone just now? WR has to hold on to the damn ball there. Plain and simple.

Disagree. Mayo didn't just get a hand in there, he got his whole forearm down in there. He's diving for a ball off the ground, got the linebacker all over him. Tom me, it's one where you tip your cap, er, helmet because that's an extremely difficult catch for anybody to make.
