    The "Green Bay as Siberia" threat actually started in the pre-Lombardi-era 1950s, because the Packers were so terrible back then and the city was so small. There had even been talk by the league of moving the franchise, or dissolving it.

    Good thing God is a Packer fan and advised White to sign in Green Bay

    Don't D-coordinators watch any film? I am rooting for Smith but jeez I feel bad for Philly fan when they have to watch Smith throw for what 250+ and 200 of that came on throws less than 5 yds beyond the line of scrimmage. Avery got most of that with YACs. Smith made one throw downfield on 3rd down, everything else was the stuff we'd seen here in SF; dump offs and short throws on crossing patterns and hooks. Load up with 9 w/in 10 yds of the LOS and dare Smith to beat you downfield.

    G-d told Reggie White to go to Green Bay, personally. So it was not free agency that put Green Bay over the top.
    This was Divine Intervention! You know what "divine intervention" is?

    I was done with the church by then, but I said a little prayer, yeah I did.

    An underrated use of the God-as-sports-fan reasoning for sure.

    Love the glasses on Marcol.

    Favorite special teams fake FG was Efren Herrera (Seahawks kicker) lining up to kick, faking kick, then running right up the gut to catch the pass from Zorn. (0:50 mark here
    )

    I do suspect teams will catch on to that eventually, because the Chiefs have neither deep speed nor a strong arm. Still, going 10-for-10 for 35 yards gets you some mileage if you have a good field goal kicker.

    Desmond Howard was basically a street free agent when the Packers brought him in. He had failed as a WR. Keith Jackson was acquired in a trade -- and refused to report for about half a season. Andre Rison was signed in the middle of the season -- again, another street free agent.

    Kansas City proved you can play bump-and-run against that college offense and pretty well shut it down.
