One notable development is that so far, the teams in the AFC East besides New England don't suck nearly as much as had been expected, especially by me. No one would call the Bills and Jets good teams, but they haven't been hopeless, and the Dolphins have some very good wins on their 3-0 record.

Miami's a paper tiger after winning in Indy and beating Atlanta?

I'm with exmedia, Packers' start doesn't surprise or disappoint me -- they were 4-4 on road last year and now they are 0-2 there against two tough opponents. They aren't a great team anyway.

49ers have real problems. And they way the Rams knocked them around last year, 1-3 is a real possibility. In addition to Smith going to rehab, Willis might not play Thursday either.

This was the best tackle of the game. Poor Robert Golden.

Miami is a legit threat to win the division. Good defense and that offense is developing nicely. Miami should not be scared of the Patriots. At all.

    Ronnie Lott shrugs.

  6. I think so.
1: I am not sold on Ryan Tannehill.
2: Atlanta is weird team. They should be better than they are.
3: The Colts aren't bad, but I'm not sure how much of a measuring stick they are for Miami.
4: It's the first few weeks of the NFL season. The difference between Week 1 and 2 is usually a 180 degrees.
Before I start believing in Miami I want to see how it does with New England and at Buffalo.

And I want more photos of Tannehill's wife!

Miami gets a tough one next week in New Orleans. Big test for that defense. And yeah, anything can happen, but there's no reason for Miami to be worried about Buffalo, at home or on the road.

Cam Newton had a decent day yesterday.

  8. At any rate... I think Miami is THE biggest stunner of the year so far.
And they seem to be going under the radar as well, with a lot of hype going to the Chiefs and failures of the NFC favorites and all those super QBs.

Titans are one play away from 3-0 -- of course they're also one play away from 1-2 -- and look to be built pretty solidly.

I think I can buy into the Chiefs more than I can buy into the Dolphins. Of course, the Dolphins having four games against the Bills and Jets won't hurt.

Hard to figure out how Miami won that game yesterday. And that seemed to be the same sentiment from the AJC scribes and the Falcons players as well.

The Fish are definitely on the rise and could certainly be a playoff team this year. But, the Falcons dominated that game yesterday, and somehow Miami found a way to steal a win. Especially notable was the way the Falcons shredded the Dolphins on the ground--not something Atlanta has shown at all in the recent past.

I still need to see more of a sample size on Miami.

Miami probably loses next week in New Orleans, at which point we'll here "SEE!!! TOLD YOU MIAMI WASN'T ANY GOOD!!!!!" Then, in a few months, we'll all look at the standings and see Miami with 9 or 10 wins.

I've long been anti-Tannehill, but that last drive yesterday was impressive.
