    Looked better than Trent Richardson.

Both teams did't need Richardson to win

Giants have gotten bland to a fault. Lost some swagger by
getting rid of some of more outspoken / flamboyant players like
Bradshaw, Osi, Bennett. Tuck has not been the player he once
was for a few years now. Giants have to face up to that reality.

I think a good point was raised earlier about Jerry Reese, who is a smart man but maybe hasn't done as good of a job of building the Giants in recent seasons. A poor O-line, an aging D-line, a secondary that's always banged up -- those things will certainly come back to haunt you if you don't have the depth to compensate.

In watching games yesterday, I could only shake my head in disbelief regarding how many times Rams receivers were dropping passes. Sam Bradford actually threw some good passes that could have resulted in first downs if only his receivers didn't have butterfingers.

Colts are a better team than I expected them to be. I had pegged them to miss the playoffs because I figured they'd still be sorting everything out and likely drop some of the close games that they won last year, but it sure seems like the coaching staff is getting a lot out of the players they have.

Jaguars have already claimed the No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft. I wouldn't say there's a team that will go 16-0 this season, but I can safely bet that the Jags will be 0-16.

300 days ago, that person was Joe Flacco. Or so many thought.

Don't understand the Reese criticism too much. He built two Super Bowl winners, including one immediately, in a five-year span. That takes it toll both when you have to pay your quarterback and when the other guys start getting big money. They've lost a lot of talent to free agency in the inevitable cycle of the NFL.

A six-year run as GM featuring two Super Bowl winners, one other division champion and no sub-.500 finishes ... yeah this is about the time a team pays the piper for that, salary-cap-wise.

Anybody like the Raiders to cover the 16.5 tonight?

    Anyone?

    Yes.

They are not as bad as the rap they've been getting. A few months ago I thought they'd be a lock for the #1 pick, but since they went with Pryor they have some unpredictability. They were very solid in Indianapolis in Week 1, which looks pretty good right now.

Also: McFadden runs better against Denver than he does against anyone else. Even last year in a pretty close game it was 11 carries for 52 yards.

Maybe Denver is as powerful as the hype would indicate, but I don't expect a blowout.

Well, Denver will score a lot, so that means you think Oakland will score a decent amount. What are you thinking, like 37-24?

You should parlay Oakland and the over.

Broncos have Welker, Decker, D. Thomas and now Julian Thomas. Raider just lost their best DB, Tyvon Branch last week and are hoping that a 36 yr old safety, Woodson, can have a great game. Oh yeah, and the Raiders have a guy at QB who will only win by ad-libbing. Broncs will have a spy on Pryor and shut his running down. This has 21+ written all over it.

I'm not sure Denver is such an unstoppable force, and Raiders will try to go ball control.

    31-17, 31-20, something like that.
