It comes down to whether or not you trust Pryor to avoid shitting the bed on the road against Peyton Manning on Monday Night Football. Big stage for the kid. I have a hard time trusting him until I see him do it. He was impressive in the Colts game, but he also shit himself at the end.

    I'll be riveted either way.

I was going to write this except for the last sentence; I'll be watching the Pirates.

Accorsi built most of the 2007 SB winning team, Reese did the draft which produced Bradshaw (7th rd) and Steve Smith (the other Steve Smith). His 1st round choice that year Aaron Ross isn't/wasn't that good.
In 7 drafts Reese has only drafted 3 players to make a ProBowl: JPP, Steve Smith (once) and Zak DeOssie (the long snapper).
Cruz is a great undrafted FA.

Reese hasn't hit on a very good corner and any decent LBs in 7 years. He keeps bringing in a FA LB each year without success. I like David Wilson but there were greater needs.

Reese does know when to get rid of players, Smith, Jacobs, Manningham...

I guess if you want to not count Victor Cruz since he wasn't officially drafted, you can continue with that point.

It's not like Reese wasn't involved in building that first winner. He was the director of pro personnel for five years before becoming GM. And regarding 2007, didn't every player he drafted make the team and play? Jay Alford (third round) had a sack in the Super Bowl, and of course Bradshaw was a second-rounder.

Reese isn't terrible, he a good/ adequate GM, with a good track record of drafting players that stick. But he hasn't drafted too many players who are really good. (He drafts a great bench) Bradshaw was a 7th rounder. But 3 #1 choices have been used in 7 years for 2 CBs and a safety, and all 3 suffered injuries that retard their effectiveness and playing time.

I wouldn't expect the Giants to look at changing either the coach or GM, although as someone pointed out it wouldn't be out of the question for Coughlin to hang it up.

Giants aren't the Steelers, but they are pretty stable.

Yeah, you win two Super Bowls and coach for a franchise as stable as the Giants, I think Coughlin wouldn't face a hot seat unless they finish 4-12 in back to back seasons... I suspect if the Giants do poorly this year, he'll give retirement a real look.

I wonder how much longer Belichick will do this? I'd be surprised if he outlasts Brady.

BB will coach until he croaks.

You're right about that. but I could see Belichick taking some position of authority in the league office, as Joe Torre did in baseball. Not saying that'll happen, but it might appeal to him once Brady goes.

I suspect Belichick is looking for who can be his successor in the personnel evaluation department and in the coaching department (since he pretty much heads up both).

I doubt he'll find anyone who can do both. There's just so much involved with both aspects that it's better to hire somebody to be the GM and let the coach have input regarding personnel, but not have final say. All you have to do is look at other coaches who gained more power in personnel decisions and how it mostly led to bad results.

Belichick traveling to NFL games and checking the length of socks on players, all while working off any remaining balance on his Spygate fine. That is an NFL Network show waiting to happen.

Jeez 2 SBs in 6 years and you're ready to fire the guy? Just look across the stadium, how many have the Jets won? That's more than any team in the league.

You draft a guy and he gets hurt and you get blamed? Don't see the logic in that. You judge a draft after 5 years, not 1 or 2.

Reese should have his job until he decides against it, unless he starts drafting JaMarcus Russells 1st overall (well how about that trifecta of Russell/McFadden/Heyward-Bey?)
