Tommy Tuberville's stomach must be in knots tonight, taking that Texas Tech job Monday. Had he only waited a little longer, he might have been back in the SEC.

I thought the exact same thing about Tuberville.

Kiffin's staff has his dad, Chow and Orgeron and people think he's going to fail miserably?

I think it's a good hire and given how the Vols fans reacted, I can't imagine why he wanted to get the hell out of there.

When Carroll left, I thought it would be a good job for Kiffin, but then thought, "Well, so much for that. Even HE won't bail on UT after only a year."

    Oops.

Edit: More brilliance from Forde...."Kiffin comes across as a guy who was born on third base and acts as if he hit a triple..."

Lane Kiffin is creating himself a reputation that is not at all attractive.

Shouldn't USC have at least interviewed a minority prior to hiring Kiffin? [cross-thread]

Forde had some good zingers, and a handful of great points, in that column.

Nothing confirmed but reports are saying Muschamp has a presser called for this morning in Austin. Hamilton has one called for this afternoon in Knoxville.

Too soon to know that. He's not yet demonstrated he's MENSA material.

You can't blame Lane for taking a job that he's coveted. It's just the timing that has a few people miffed.

  10. Much unlike his wife ...

Seriously, Norm Chow is or is NOT heading to USC? I have read two conflicting reports; the latest said he is staying at UCLA because of a massive buyout.

If any school is ever going to try to put its foot down and attempt to force specific performance on a coaching contract, this would be it.

    Who's reporting that?
