Steve Spurrier would be perfect in so many ways.

The only other Kippy I know is Kerri Strug's fake brother on SNL.

I couldn't have told you what Kippy Brown looked like before this morning and still don't know what he'd be like as a head coach but I really liked what he said in the presser and also how he said it.

Granted, if I could get a guy with a proven head coaching or major coordinator history, I'd have to go with him. But if not, I say give him a chance.

Well, it's not everyday there's a former XFL coach leading one of the SEC's top programs.

Kippy was Jet RB coach during much celebrated Coslet era from 1990 - 1993 . As sidebar Pete Carrol was also on that staff.

    Just curious:

If you were Kiffin, would you have actually turned down USC? Most are saying Kiffin was classless by departing, but I say that most would have done the exact same thing.

It sucks, but the No. 1 thing in sports is looking out for No. 1. The whole concept of loyalty in athletics, college or pro, is laughable.

But, seriously: Anyone who would have stayed at Tennessee with USC at the door?

The way I hear it, as long as the kids do not physically attend class, they're good to go; they can transfer without having to sit out a year. If they go to class, they have to sit a year if you transfer.

I could be wrong, but that's what I originally thought and that's what I'm hearing elsewhere.

Shouldn't be a problem for the UT recruits, then. HI-YO!

Here's just one example why that statement isn't true: John Blake, OU.

Finally found what I'd been looking for:

I've never heard that. If it's true, then so be it. If it's not 1,000 percent accurate, holy shit. Particularly if he told recruits that to get them to go to their first day of classes.

If that's true, it makes no sense at all. If the kid is anywhere on campus -- in a friend's dorm, driving through campus, eating at an on-campus place with his buddies at 12:01 a.m. -- he's considered enrolled at UT?

Do they have people patrolling the campus at 12:01 a.m. looking for these kids?
