He has had one relevant season (what happened with the Raiders is not relevant) and he took a team in disarray that had missed a bowl game and turned it into a team that went to a bowl and despite being overmatched never look overmatched in talent by the Big Boys in the conference.

And you'd think, looking at the way he recruited and the coaching staff he put together, he'd have had A CHANCE (not saying he would have but a CHANCE) to really do something special.

Well, we know UT's players will have the best grammar and best written papers in the SEC, and they'll probably be all over Twitter and message boards, communicating directly with fans and cutting out the middle man. Not sure how the faithful will respond to Meredith Brooks' "Bitch" replacing "Rocky Top" as the rally song though.

    Oh. Not THAT Dooley.

Lay down your head and die, Vol fan.

(Actually, I have no opinion on Dooley.)

Nah. People with integrity who do the right thing rarely have the need to kick themselves.

I don't get the NFL hangup, either. Hasn't worked out too well with anyone except Pete Carroll.

It worked OK with Nick Saban, though he was never an NFL head coach

Now that this hire is official, Tennessee fans can now re-direct their outrage to their own AD rather than at Kiffin.

    Wow.

That's funny... You used the word integrity when talking about a college football coach.

Dooley's kid? Wow, that's a stretch, but could be a decent hire.

Hamilton appears to me that he's not very good in his job.

I was wishing for UT to crawl back to Fulmer and running him out.

ESPN is reporting that Sumlin is still in the mix and the Dooley deal is not a lock yet.

    This could be interesting today.

    See, asked and answered......

And Saban, you are right, I forgot he was a head coach for a year with the Dolphins......it went by so quickly, I forgot about it.
