I actually thought he was being sarcastic/ironic in overlooking Saban's NFL tenure. Booooooo!!!

That's a very tough situation for the SID. The guy doesn't work for his school, but it's a public university. Did about as good as he could have I think. There was some good to the TV guy's theory, but it definitely was a losing battle.

  4. That's more to the point. Like Spurrier, only with a better second act.

Who was the fanboy in the back screaming?

I'm sure that video is meaningless to anyone outside of the business, but that was some interesting and embarrassing shit...

"Off the camera is the equivalent of the off the record."

Do TV people really think that?

I like Bud Ford, but he stuck his foot in his mouth with the "you're in our building" comment.

I wonder how the conversation would have been different if they were in Tuscaloosa or Gainesville.

The Miami Dolphins beg to differ. Although that tenure was pretty forgettable, with another classless Saban departure.

Are exit press conferences totally unprecedented? Anyone remember any?

When Lou Holtz left Minnesota he didn't have one.

But he did take many of the kids to Notre Dame who were supposed be coming to Minnesota, like Tony Rice.
