Not sure how to answer that. I have no proof, and that's not typically the kind of story I chase without a damn good reason.

    Fair enough. Just curious.

What's so amusing about this argument is that TV would have had the AUDIO and could have shown a picture of anything up on the screen with the audio - a picture of Lane, a monkey dressed as Lane, Bill the Mime acting as Lane, a popsicle stick with a yarn wig and a T on his lapel - and the viewers wouldn't have cared because they want the news. Pictures are and will always be secondary. All this guy needed was a little resourcefulness and he could have made it worked, yet he has to play Mr. Big Cojones complaining about how he won't be told what to do - and guess what. Lane told you you'd get nothing and you got nothing. Duh.

It's TV. Pictures are never secondary.

Is that why people often keep the TV on in the background while they do other things? For the pictures?

This statement pretty much validates my distaste for most tv folks. Who cares if it's right? My hair looks pretty ...

Plus, that statement is wrong. Don't forget that. :)

Most tv folks act this way and then wonder why they don't have print's respect - not that most care.

People leave the radio on in the background, too. Meanwhile I'm trying to remember the last time anyone who decided to watch TV also didn't care if they had no picture because they at least had the audio.

Hmm, I wonder which one of you posted that one.

    Pictures ARE secondary.

As has been shown, you can go on the air and tell a story without video.

Try putting up a bunch of pictures with no story to back them. (photo essays not included)

    Story first. Pictures second(ary).
