p.s. That letter from Birren to UT is really pretty weak, though.

The letter was very week - one Super Bowl (appearance) in the last 25 years - and Kiffin is the guy who destroyed the Raider legacy of greatness in two years? The letter all but spelled out the coach serves as a puppet of Davis and the letter doesn't make it sound like the Raiders have much of a case against Kiffin. All Kiffin's attorney's have to show is tape of any Raider coach badmouthing the team after a loss and ask the Raiders why those coaches weren't fired.

Lane Kiffin can make as big of an ass of himself all he wants...as long as he keeps signing the nation's NUMBER ONE RECRUIT!

The best high school running back in years will be wearing Big Orange next season, thanks entirely to Lane Kiffin.

For your sake, TV, I hope Brown and his handler have cleaned things up since your earlier concerns.

But Lane has been right on one thing -- he has put together one heck of a recruiting staff with Orgeron, Lance Thompson, etc. Now if they can coach them up AND avoid probation, they might really have something. But those are two majors IFs.

Lil' Kiffin's certainly not boring, though, you've got to grant him that much.

In fact, he has...particularly in terms of his transfer, which has been well vetted and proven to be about a family issue.

As for the rest of it, we'll have to see...and the Vols will take their chances.

I know this will be updated, but can anyone the part that doesn't make any sense?

That's a lot of yards for a linebacker.

All I will say in defense of my point is that I've covered the SEC for about7-8 years, and I read many columns and heard many radio hosts saying his offense was weak sauce that SEC defenses would puree.

To be clear, the above post is about Meyer.

Building a staff of great recruiters is nice but they better be able to coach a little bit too.

Ask Oklahoma about the John Blake years.

Congrats to Kiffin on getting Brown. How long before Kiffin hires Brown's "advisor" as a coach?
