The second phrase doesn't do much to narrow down which game it was.

Does UT let assistants do commercials? Because I want to see The Orgeron meet the Natural ..................................... Gas woman.

Why did the Ogre never do Golden Flake commercials?

Well, as the resident Vol fan I gotta admit I was fairly well psyched when a mutual friend told me 2 weeks ago Kiffin was going to get the job and that daddy would go with him.

And now I'm 100 percent sure he's the right coach for the program; Visor Boy convinced me...it's been a long time since he felt insecure enough about UT that he needed to rip on the program!

And to top it off, Kiffin has hired his brother-in-law, who happened to be Visor Boy's recruiting coordinator.

Now if Kiffin just brings in Al Wilson to coach the linebackers, and he also shows up on the sideline in a UT visor instead of a cap, I'll be forced to rename my dog after him!

Never understood the visor. I figured the only reason coaches wore them instead of caps is to let everyone know they weren't balding.

    I'm just wondering this --

How long will it be before Lane Kiffin becomes a true SEC coach and:

1.) Removes any and all legitimate non-conference games against BCS caliber opponents, especially those played more than 20 miles from the campus.
2.) Gets every Sun Belt and Division I-AA team from the southeastern part of the country on his speed dial
3.) Makes sure he has at least seven home games every year and eight home games in many years.
4.) Never really leaves his home state to play a non-conference game, and definitely never leaves his own region, crosses the Mississippi or the Mason-Dixon Line...
5.) Then, when he is 4-0 in his non-conference schedule and 4-4 in the SEC, runs around claiming conference superiority and complaining about the meat grinder it is even though he's beaten absolutely nobody except for a few over rated teams from his own conference and perhaps an ACC team or two -- oh wait a minute, the ACC was 6-4 versus the SEC this year, so scratch that one too.......
6.) And finally rationalizes bowl victories in one of two ways -- if he wins it proves the SEC is superior to whatever conference he plays against. If he loses, it is because (a) he either finished lower in the SEC than his opponent did in his conference, and thus it was a bad matchup or (b) his team didn't prepare hard because it meant more to the other guys.....

Fun, but in the case of pre-Kiffin Vols, not factual. Unlike all the other SEC schools, UT always plays 1 or 2 quality OOC games, usually 1 on the west coast.

As noted in a press release:

"A two-game set against UCLA -- the Vols lost Monday in Pasadena, Calif., and host the rematch next season in Knoxville -- completes the current decade. Then the Vols host Oregon in 2010, travel to North Carolina in 2011, host the Tar Heels in 2012, travel to Oregon in 2013, visit Oklahoma in 2014, host the Sooners and travel to Connecticut in 2015, host the Huskies and travel to Nebraska in 2016, host the Cornhuskers in 2017 and play at home against Ohio State in 2018 before traveling to Columbus in 2019.

Tennessee will have played regular season games against teams from all six Bowl Championship Series leagues by the close of the next decade."

But, like I said, a clever read.

Easy there fan boy, that's my point.

That Tennessee has been the exception to the rule and that Lane Kiffin will never become a true SEC coach unless he lightens Tennessee's schedule to ridiculously easy levels and then goes with the popular SEC refrain of "well we beat each other up....." as his rationalization for it.

I know I'd have more respect for the SEC if they added another league game. Same goes for the Big 12, the Big 10 and the ACC. No reason why a third of your schedule should be non-conference games.
