Imagine if Liberals who applauded Lone Survivor actually read the book, Marcus Lattrell on
explaining why they did not kill the goat herders that compromised their mission:

    p. 203. …Was I afraid of their possible buddies in the Taliban? No. Was I afraid of the liberal media back in the U.S.A.? Yes. And I suddenly flashed on the prospect of many, many years in a U.S. civilian jail alongside murderers and rapists.

    p. 206. I looked Mikey right in the eye, and I said, “We gotta let ‘em go.”
It was the stupidest, most southern-fried, lame brained decision I ever made in my life. I must have been out of my mind. I had actually cast a vote which I knew could sign our death warrant. I’d turned into a fucking liberal, a half-assed, no-logic nitwit, all heart, no brain, and the judgment of a jackrabbit.

Jackrabbits are indeed quick as judgment.

Why isn't the right mad at Eastwood?

Isn't he the one who assigned Kyle some moral discomfort with his job that he did not express is real life?

He's a hero killer, all that matters. They can allow themselves to turn a blind eye so long as he sniped the shit out of them ragheaded bastards.

I wonder if "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" has been optioned. The reaction to that one will be interesting. I'm sure some of you have read the novel, but at heart the premise is that the main character feels completely uncomfortable with the hero worship leveled at him and his fellow soldiers. It's a pretty cutting critique of the phoney baloney pedestal that most Americans tend to place service members upon nowadays. I'm not sure it's filmable, though.
